jon my folks live near to carlisle so a northern meet would be good for me.

you suggested 3 meets sorry if some one has suggested this but what about northern/midlands/southern meets?

working up through out the year so south during autumn/winter when fewer grockles midlands spring into summer then northen going into the summer/autumn?

Yep, def up for the French trip.

Scotlands a long drive for me just to get there so no to that

Summer Yes providing it dosent clash with anything

Autumn, Keep it clear of 2-9 October or it will clash with the Cannonball (CANNONBALL JON !!!!)

Q, you are a mod, like what I was ;) and I used to be able to do it

Incompetent is the word you're looking for :D

Jon,

Seems good to me,

I am more than happy to help with the Peaks/Dales run, Treasure Hunt, Accom. Pubs or whatever.

Graham

All sound good, but voted for borders and scotland as I've never really driven up there.

Also, not been to Knockhill or Kames, both would be good - Kames especially as a sprint circuit is better for novices?

Knockhill is a really good circuit, which is a real test of the brakes,

and has good views over the forth and the bridges... The roads

leding to the circuit are also an entertaining drive....

The reason why I suggested a weekend up in Scotland is the lack of traffic which seems to affect most of Wales, and England now..

even up in the Lakes....

Cheers

Dazz

That was one of the reasons for a meet in Scotland. A lot of the more southerly (ie south of Manchester) haven't really experienced what that fine country can offer. It also gives me an excuse to go drive some of my favorite roads again (all part of the recce process :D ). Kames is indeed a fine little venue, never driven Knockhill.

Other reasons for Scotland were that we do have a lot of Northern members, they always have to come south, so I thought it only fair that us shandy drinkers should reciprocate.

Wales is a good venue, we've used it before, it was popular so lets revisit it (I have some other nice roads for us :D

Peak District / Derbyshire Dales - some lovely roads and not as much of a trek for the SE members or people in East Anglia to go to. Nice and central.

For open spaces, Scotland has them all beat, also, if you stay to the west, not many cameras and some nicely surfaced roads (good to see our EU contribution being put to good use)

Right then, I'd better start some route planning. :D

Count me in on a recce trip sometime.

Sounds good mate. Would be up for the Wales, Midlands and France trip. Possibly up for the ring trip and the scotland trip. See how finances go, but having the Furby vRS does help save some now! :p

Ja wohl, Will be up for a Ring visit, possibly in early spring / late winter 2004, I reckon. Ich mochte viel km/h in mein Auto.

And Graeme, I'm curious how the vRS will save you dosh, or was the :p being sarcastic? :D (I guess you'll have a better mpg in the long-run.)

Assuming all is well with work etc (one never knows  ) then i am a definite for a 'Ring trip, even more so if its at easter as i get that week off anyway ;)

I think i'll be working some of my xmas hols this year, to save some days off for all these meets :)

Scotland or the Euro tour sounds good - when the wife gets her replacement Octy (see thieving scouse scum) we'll have loads of arguments over whether to take the Octy or the Furby - can't bloody wait!!!!

It would do if I kept it's useage the same! This fuel saving lark means you can go more places on the same amount of money! :p

Just had a thought on trackday/meet. how about some of us more southern lot got together at Castle Combe for the VW driver day which is usually in July? Would be interesting and they do club stands. Perhaps we could get a plot and set up a nice group of Skoda's! :D

With regards to a possible european trip, I quite fancy a visit to the Skoda factory and have a tour. Could we not organise a trip to the factory in Czechoslovakia?

Q,

I suggested this on the first page of this thread mate, Jon wasnt keen as he didnt fancy scouting the route lol..

If anyone else is interested, maybe we could get something together, perhaps as an extension of a 'Ring trip for those who fancy it.

It wouldnt need any pre-scouting as such, other than arranging the factory tour & accomodation.

Edit,

By the way, its The Czech Republic now, i know a few people over there and they're very protective of their seperate identity :D

Oops, maybe I should read and remember what I've read next time :D

Still not voted but am happy to do any / all of them. Guess that's not useful as a vote really but count it as an expression of interest. More than happy to come and recce too (although maybe not Scotland for practical reasons).

you could join me in the scoob

the wife in the L&K, one lonely cumbrian VRS driver (ex scooby) and a few of the cumbrian scoobs for my next

Raid across the Border ####################

16 th november sunday starting near carlisle

and god is closing the roads for me (again)

:D:D:D:D:D

Not too fussed on the exact location for a meet, but the spectacular scenery (not that I really noticed much of it due to having way too much fun driving!) in Wales at the national meet was great.

Roll on Spring!
