Remap 2015 VRS Petrol

Featured Replies

So tempted to take mine to revo when I get it, just wondering I know it will affect the warranty (assuming a map can even be done on a 16 plate) what extra stress and risks are involved, does Revo offer some sort of warranty invade it's proved the map has caused the problem?

  • I've not seen any results from a Shark map on this car yet, other than what is on-line.  I have had Revo Stage1, then 2, currently on Stage3 plus have had the DSG mapped too.  I'm sure they can help i

  • FYI Revo released this a few days ago:   https://www.facebook.com/RevoTechnik/photos/a.244504050117.290379.244475475117/10156891776990118/?type=3&theater

  • This is, however, not a warranty issue, but an insurance concern. Thus your insurance provider should be made aware of such modification.

Revo can't do 2016MY cars yet although they're working on it.  No-one offers a warranty on the aftermarket VAG side I'm afraid although Revo have their own vRS and I notice you're based in East Midlands so I'm sure they would welcome you to pop in and say hello so you could see their vRS.

Here's a few I did yesterday of mine:

3-4-5th gear

5th only

Haha Michael that is hillarious!! Probably accelerates as quickly in 5th once on boost as the standard car does in 3rd!

....I am so going to own a stage 1/2 mapped Golf R one of these days!

Wasn't planning on doing anything for 6 months or so just iron out any issues that might arise then go for it. Hopefully someone will have worked out how by then.

Might have to pop along and have a look at there vrs

I'll be at PistonHeads Sunday Service this Sunday at Silverstone if anyone is around or going. :)

Think I will go with a remap from revo when my warranty runs out or close to it, over 300hp stage 1 is impressive, hope they crack the 2016 :) Watching the vids above makes me wish I went with DSG

Why must you tempt me so :(

Revo intercooler £520 + VAT

Revo Carbon intake £299 + VAT

Scorpion Exhaust de-cat downpipe is around £300 + VAT and then either res or non-res CAT back exhaust at around £670 + VAT

Then cost of the turbo which I think is about £1200 + VAT

What a awesome car. Just out of interest, do you use this as your daily driver? Have you come up against any problems? 400+bhp is strong power on standard internals, I wonder what the reliability would be like over a long time, obviously that all depends on how it's driven but all I can think is that forged internals would make this a much safer car?

Yeah its my company daily driver car. Although it has had a fairly hard life as it is the Revo development car so it went stage1 after 600miles, then stage2, and has been Stage3 since May last year so a good 7-8,000miles on Stage3, over 14k just now, and hasn't missed a beat.  The level of tune could have been more aggressive and the turbo could run much more boost, but that would then result in reliability issues with many of the core components of the car so it is by no means running as hard as it could.  During the test period there have been no issues on any of the test cars Revo has used (7 cars over 6 months in 6 countries) so I would not expect any issues over time, although as you say that does depend on how the car is looked after and driving style.

The next stage may require forged internals but we'll see what happens on that front :)

Pistonheads are looking to have a Sunday Service event at Revo HQ in Daventry, during May I think. Keep an eye out on their web site for more details, everyone more than welcome.

  • 1 month later...
  • 3 weeks later...

You mentioned the Revo thing, I had a look but the calendar booking is broken on PH so cannot confirm. I wonder can I just turn up to take a look at your car if you are there?

I was tempted to go with revo but admiral wouldn't insure a remap so gonna leave it till next year and shop around for someone who will at a reasonable figure.

300bhp is just to tempting lol
