Hi, did you ever get hold of the updated firmware and did it fix your problem? I have the exact same issue with a Xiaomi Mi Max 3 phone, but it seems to be an issue with many manufacturers phones and the VW sound systems including the MIB1 Bolero/Amundsen. I have the same hardware and firmware as you. I detailed my issue here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGclkJaGUrw

If anyone is still giving the links for the 490 firmware, please can you PM me the link. Thanks

Does anyone have the link?

I'd like a link to 0490 too please! :)

Thanks in advance.

I think the issue with this is that:

1) the forum mods don't want links posted in public.

2) you can only send 2 PM's per day, at least that's true for me so sending a download link privately is very limited.

3) Skoda, having advertised on their update portal the importance of updating firmware, are inexplicably not making it publicly available to people with issues.

4) Certain dealers do not have staff technically able to update firmware (happened to me yesterday) and

5) those same dealers won't release firmware to customers to do it themselves.

No wonder there is frustration with this. It's unacceptable. Maybe this firmware will find it's way onto piratebay as a torrent download in the next couple of days?

Reading the description, I found something helpful here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGclkJaGUrw&t=

"MIB1.Bolero.Amundsen.0490.Firmware"

Keep in mind though: "This FW update is suitable only for MIB1 (1st generation) Bolero and Amundsen headunits. Not for MIB2 units (MY 2016 onwards)." !!

"

What's the difference between MIB1 and MIB2 Bolero/Amundsen units? I don't know what I have.
MIB1 is the first generation with smaller screen.
MIB2 is the second generation used from MY (=modell year) 2016.
If you have a late 2015 car you probably have MIB2.
The graphics interface is also a bit different and the MIB1 units don't have menu items like MirrorLink, Greenscore, etc.
This update is only for MIB1 units.

Hmm, I swear I replied to you on this! I can understand 1 & 2 as the admins here don't want to be involved passing Skoda software around (understandable!), but 3, 4 and 5 are frustrating. What's the point of creating an update portal if you don't a) keep it up to date and b) make it usable?

Tis a bit annoying. :(

Every other piece of firmware updateable hardware I have ever owned 1) Has bugs in the software 2) The manufacturers either a) let you download updated firmware and install it when it becomes available and encourage you to do so b) update it automatically or give the option when you plug it into the internet: TV's, routers, computers, HiFi receivers, smartphones.

What VW are doing with this stuff is absurd. I'm also finding myself put through to the pass the buck department when I ring up for Warranty support. Poor.

Hello Guys,

I've got serious troubles with bluetooth phone calls on my Bolero. Sometimes I cant even hear other side. Restarting the unit does not solve the problem. Phone is OK (iPhone 8/XS) as its working well with my other OIII with Columbus.

Is there any update? Can you send using PM pls?

Thanks!

See the link in the post directly above yours.

Download a torrent s/w like BitTorrent (the free version) and open the torrent file, should give you a zipped up copy of the files you need and instructions.
