what are the dates

17/18th of june

Hi, I went on Eurostar last year via paris, montpernasse then on to le mans.

Excellent service good price.

Do you think you will see Audi's diesel r9/10 versus peugeot hdi racer in the lmp1 class.

Best wishes

John

It is fun driving to le mans though ?

Am going again next year, can't wait its such a fantastic weekend, the drive down is very good, not particuarly fast due to loads and loads of traffic but the new Autoroute from Rouen to Le Mans should be open but i'll be going the original route even when the Autoroute opens.

i'm going with www.airtrack.co.uk this year,a bit more expensive but the campsite is in a very good location and they have better facilities than the other campsites.

Thursday is a great day to drive down as the amount of really nice cars you'll see is just amazing, the tunnel crossing i was on last year had 3 Lambo Diablos a Pagani Zonda, over 15 Porsche's and at least 8 Ferrari's along with loads of other great cars.

once you've been once you'll be wanting to go every year!!!

Could be tempted to drive and share the bac seats if enough advanced time etc.

  • 5 weeks later...

So just to bump this again and to see how many more people are thinking about going now that all the fuss of the last 2 weeks is over!!!!

Will hopefully be heading this year if funds allow... :D

can anyone confirm if the general entrance price will allow you to roam the circuit spectating? Is a grandstand seat really nesscecary?

also as I'm traveling from Ireland, from Holyhead probably how long long is the drive to Folkstone on average?

Cheers

Fergal

Heading over there this year too.

Hi,

Yes a general ticket will allow you to roam around.

If your staying for the weekend I would recommend you get a ticket.

As it's, to some extent, a once in a lifetime visit it's worth spending the extra money!

Best wishes

John

N.B My funds were very tight hence me using eurostar and sleeping in a bivvie bag. However, I did invest in a seat in the Dunlop stand

Cheers John, I will look into stand prices, thanks for that :D

Hmm.. I'm temted in going this year. Would like to do some european jaunts maybe to Spa or Nurburgring as i keep reading they are easy to get to and would like to see some of the famous european circuits. Though certainly would like to drive if just for the experience.

As well as going to Le Mans this year i'll be doing at least 3-5 trips to the Nurburgring so your more than welcome to follow me there.

Am sure that we'll try and organise a Briskoda trip to the Ring again as soon as the dates for this year are released which should be next month.

so keep a watch out for info or PM if you don't hear anything.

Wrighty, thanks - how about spa in april for the lms?

  • 1 month later...

I'll be going there this year, I volunteered to drive some mates but am debating taking the new but small Furby or the roomier but 17 year old and likely to break down BMW... at the moment it looks like I'll have 4 in my car plus tents, luggage etc so the Furby might be a bit cramped...
