Octavia VRS Petrol (Buying)

Featured Replies

Been looking for a VRS Petrol for a while now and decided that I definitely want 2013 onwards.

I know petrol versions are rare at the moment but the ones that I am seeing seem to be over priced. Most 2013 are being advertised at about 17k. When you consider I can get a 2015 for 19500k.  Is it worth while waiting and see if they come down in price?

Are petrol VRS 2013 overpriced?

Get a new one on pcp then :D

How much are you prepared to pay is probably a pertinent question?

2.5k more for a 2 year newer car to me is rather a no brainer but if you are somewhat restricted by budget then I guess 17k for a 2013 car is probably fairly reasonable...thats of course not to say you have to offer £17k for it.

If its a private sale then the vendor is likely to want relatively strong dealer money for it, a dealer for arguments sake might have paid 14.5/15k for it and have 2-2.5k margin in it....usually quite a bit more margin in used sales.

Depends what you are prepared to pay and condition/miles of ones coming in.

I got a genuine dealer one ridiculously cheap but then it did come with some miles, but then I didn't mind as I'm not likely to be adding much to those miles

and that was how I got it so cheap in the first place ! Chicken, egg. Got in there quick whilst other were deliberating over the miles etc.

Next best thing is a non face lift bargain perhaps. Yes they are overpriced I think, so I was happy to get mine for not that much above £10k which I think it fair play.
I'd have been quite unhappy about paying far in excess of £15k, I'd be thinking fast Jag, Nissan for that money personally.

The prices will definitely fall, this one http://www.skoda.net.r66.co.uk/carview.aspx?id=605076235 has been on the market since the summer and they keep dropping the price...the green paint might not be to everyone's taste I guess...

vRSAnt Did you get you're VRS at a dealership in Norfolk by any chance. Not to fussed about the mileage as I am only doing going about 9k a year. Not keen on the pre-lift models as I don't like the accelerator pedal and the black and light grey seats. I have no intention of paying anything like 15k if it gets to that point think I will seriously consider PCP or be looking at another make.
