Couple of questions

Featured Replies

So had enough of low profile tyres and poor economy from my Monte for it's being part exchanged towards a 10 plate 2.0 diesel yeti CR (all my budget could afford)

I work from home so not a lot of local driving may be a trip a week and then at least once a month a 500 mile round trip to Wales to should be good to keep the DPF clear. I know the egr's get clogged up and wondered if there was an additive I could when I fill up. Anyone used and would suggest a product?

1 panel in the passenger footwell has lots of scratched (can't see from the drivers seat) I have seen a kit in the USA where you use sandpaper, superglue and they have a spray the same colour as the trim to do a repair. Unfortunately they don't do anything Skoda wise otherwise I would order 1 and give it a go. Anyone know of a kit in the UK or even where you could get a spray in the right colour and type of paint for plastic trim.

Getting quite excited but having to wait to have it serviced, brake fluid change and cambelt as part of the deal. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long

Thanks

Glenn

Ref:- scratched foot well trim panel. Why not price up a replacement one new or from a breakers, could well be reasonable price compared with buying a kit from USA?

Dealing with scratched textured plastics is a pain.  You can sometimes help the appearance by using a plastic scourer gently to remove any frayed or excess bit of plastic.  This kits tend to be difficult to use and if the panel can be replaced this is often easier.

Alternatively, could you fit a small luggage net or something on that panel to disguise it?

When I has my TDI 110 CR Yeti my commute was only six miles each way with 1-2 longer trips (300-400 miles) each month.  Never had any issues with the DPF or EGR.  Never even noticed a regen unlike my Fiesta before it which seemed to do it all the time.  AFAIK the CR engines don't have anything like the issues with the DPF or EGR that the previous PD, etc engines did.

My milage is low nowadays, except for towing a caravan, so I use the "super diesel fuels"

as often as I can find them, it cuts down the number of DPF events.
