Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

Bit excited about collecting and owning a 60 plate 43k mk11Skoda Octavia Cr TDI VRS 2.0.

The transponder on drivers door doesn't work but that's being fixed.

Cam belt being replaced. Pads and discs too.

Chopped in a 1 series BMW as need the space with two under 4's in back.

Been reading a lot on this forum. Hope to glean and share information over next few years.

Cheers

Due to collect my mk2 2010 Octavia CR TDI VRS this afternoon.

No wait...D M Keith have just called to say they have an issue with water ingress on the drivers door which is preventing the central locking from working. They've known about replacing the transponder unit on the door for a week...

After typing water ingress into a search on this forum it is very apparent that with a lack of rain gutters on anything that opens on the Octavia mk2 is going to cause issues like the one I now have to incur.

I'm still in my 14 day cooling period.

What do you guys and gals recommend or advise. Should I run away, hope it's a one off or join the Skoda revolution?

Looks to be a water breach in to the circuit board box for the alarm central locking. As a result the car wont lock. I have been advised by a friend to request a complete replacement unit with plastics to prevent ingress again.

D M Keith suggested the car door just needed to dry out and point of water entry resolved but that would mean retaining the old water damaged unit.

Any advise welcomed as this could be a deal breaker.

Thanks
