Cruise Display

Featured Replies

It seems that plenty of VAG cars have the cruise display on the maxidot but my superb II doesn't. I thought this was because it was still fitted with the older style cruise control and not the one with a dedicated stalk but I found this in the Octavia forum http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/280917-cruise-display/

I decided to give it a go and it worked so I thought I would mention it because I think its a really useful feature as often when i'm resuming cruise control after speeding up and slowing down I don't often remember what speed i set it at.

Why this feature isn't enabled from the factory is a mystery?

The SII (pre face lift and maybe also post FL) does show what you have set your CC to. I do not know if VCDS is able to change that.

I agree it would be quite useful.

Mine Didn't, but it can be turned on using VCDS which is why I created this thread.

So it appears that some do come with it enabled from the factory?

My Superb II doesn't show the cruise control setting. I tried turning it on too but there was no difference. From other comments on this it works on petrol models, but only on more recent diesels if at all.

It's reliant on the ECU to send the message to the instrument cluster.

On a lot of the Skoda TDi engines they simply don't send the message so it's never shown, my O2 also doesn't show the CC display despite the cluster supporting it.

I'm led to believe that you can enable this when the car is remapped, might be worth a chat if you have a friendly tuning company nearby. Unfortunately I don't know any more than that...

Should have read "does NOT show" doh!

Mine didn`t show, enabled with VCDS. Facelift diesel.

I got my Skoda dealer to activate this when I had my Superb 2 FL diesel new in 2013. They were very reluctant to alter it as it isn't standard. I find it very useful, especially as I had it on my three previous Passat's.

It's been discussed here several times before.

I get error channel not available when I go into adaptions and cruise control display :-(

Looks like I was one of the lucky few that got it to work then. Anybody know of any other good VCDS tweaks for the Superb II?

My SE Business didn't have auto wipers either till about 5 minutes ago, this is quite an easy job as well. My understanding is that if you have auto lights the sensors are both incorporated so you can activate the rain sensor part and now the intermittent setting is now 'AUTO' mode.

My jan 2013 Superb Elegance didn't have it activated when I bought it at 1 year old, but my son turned it on through VCDS and it works fine.

As has been mentioned on other threads this only works on FL cars..... It has been tried numerous times on three preFL cars that I know of personally including my own and could not be enabled via VCDS on any of them.

There are a few...

  • Hill Hold Control is fantastic, if you're lucky enough to have the correct ABS control module
  • XDS, which is Electronic Diff Lock
  • Easy Entry/Exit - moves the drivers seat base and back a bit to help get in/out of the car
  • Brake lights flash when emergency braking
  • Coming home with Fog lamps - saves using the Xenons
  • Lane change indicator from three to five flashes

Probably not comprehensive with everything hat can be done, but I hope it helps
