Service Plans.

Featured Replies

I know somewhere this has been discussed before, but don't know where!

I have just signed up for a 3 year service plan on a 220 tsi sel for £370.

Thought is was too good to miss. This is also on 0% monthly direct debits.

Interesting based on what mileage per year, as I'm very interested in this .... Should it ever appear !

Likewise, think they tried to sell me the same thing for £924 last weekend!

Looking at the Skoda website it only says oil change at first service, not the subsequent services? Is that right....? Or are the items mentioned for services 2 and 3 over and above the standard service items?

Was this when you picked the car up or have you just ordered the car?

Do you have a breakdown to what it includes?

The service plan is 3 years. 12 months or 10k miles. Servicing is a minor, major and the another minor with brake fluid at 3 years.

Something similar to this. http://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/service-and-maintenance/simply-fixed.

My car is currently set for variable but will be changed to 12 months because of short journeys and low mileage.

It's actually with RRG Skoda and not a Skoda plan as such. I suppose they are selling their own plan instead of buying from Skoda UK. Hence the price is lower. Looking into the service schedule for superb here. http://www.rrg-group.com/skoda/service-maintenance/

It is exactly the same schedule as what is on Skoda UK website. First service is just an oil change then subsequent ones oil change and few other bits.

I get the impression that the manufacturer service plans are being marketed as providing convenience rather than value for money. The cost of the individual fixed price services making up the nearly new two service plan (one minor, one major) is £40 less than the plan price.

It's good to hear that dealers are undercutting the manufacturer prices, even if it is only for their own customers.

Be aware that if your car hasn't covered enough miles you will only essentially get 3 minor services and not the extra's mentioned in the major service due to them not being required.

Skoda really need to make their plans more flexible like the Mini TLC packages, as these left you on the car computer derived requirements and didn't make you go onto Annual Servicing it's also a lot cheaper than the Skoda package!

The TLC Package costs £349 and covers the cost of the first brake fluid change along with parts, lubricants and labour involved in the remaining MINI servicing requirements as stipulated in the schedule for a period of 5 years or 50,000 miles, whichever milestone is reached first.
