Toyo Proxes

Featured Replies

Well..

I got those fitted today. 205/40 ZR16. Any good on turns? They're certainly much better than the 225/45/16 I had on before, the car is relatively faster now too. I know Toyo are good but I'm more used to Falken.

i thought you were going for the stunners??

T1-R or T1-S?

I have 215/40 16's T1R's much better than my previous 20/45/ 16 Falken 451's

IIRC when they were fixing them on they aare T1-Rs. And boy oh boy they are really nice from the way the cr hndles. AND they are pretty quiet! Well, much more quiet than the FK-451s I had before.

Don'tmost of you use Toyos anyway? I was gonna go for Firenza 205/45s, but I chose the Toyos..though Firenzas are supposed to be EXCELLENT performance tyres.

Well, I understand the Proxes are highly rated!

yeah they are not bad!!!!

Got the T1-R's on my Octy vRS in 225.45.17 and great grip, but more road noise than Conti's.

Got T1-R's on the Ibiza and rate them highly, a bit noisier than F1's though IMO.

Mil.........If you lived closer I would deliver the Falkens I have:thumbup: ......I've discovered there Sh**e  I'd even fit them for you;)

Aww come on dude, Falkens aren't bad. Maybe the ones YOU had. The ST115 range are an absolutely outstanding range. The FK451s were grippy but I just love the ST115s.

And no thanks, you can keep your tyres as a memoire of the days you were sliding at low speed on dry roads :D

Just looked at my tyres this morning.

They are not TR-1s, they are FZ-4s.

Anyone know them?

Mil..........Just a thought but do you think that Falken tyres suit the climate you live in .:) Nice and hot, hot road surfaces and a general warmth about the place Maybe the rubber is always warm. This could apply to most tyres I supose but Falkens may be suited to your climate as I've stated.....................Just a thought..............Andy:thumbup:

I have T1-R's and they're loads better than the T1-S that they superceded.

i heard the Toyo's are soft compound rubber so although they grip better - they dont last as long as the conti's....

The T1-S maybe.. but the "R"'s are much better... mine have been on for 25k miles and probably have another 5-10k left.. (this includes several trackdays)

My T1-R's have lasted about 10k on the fronts and are now down to the wear markers.

When I had T1-S's on my Polo GTi, they lasted 5k miles on the fronts!

i had\the t1/r's now im on uniroyal rain sport 2, they seem ok, cant fault them.
