I like the ACC, deal with it.

It does say in the manual that heavy rain and fog as well as snow can affect operation of the radar so would seem just exceeding with working specifications.

Had E classes with Distronic (Mercs ACC) since 2008 and yes they do stop working in heavy rain. Trouble is you cannot change to normal CC so you have nothing but then some people would say that CC should not be used in adverse conditions anyway.

There are signs on the Antwerp ring road telling you not to use CC at all and I think I may have seen this in  other places as well.

My 2004 Mondeo with CC did not hold the speed downhill. Only enginebraking, nothing more.

But I do love ACC! Only annoying thing with it is when radar clogs up with snow. Then it wont work at all....

Ah ok, I must have mis-remembered!

As this is an ACC " I love it " thread, yesterday afternoon I was travelling on the A30 Eastward with ACC set, a car infront suddenly pulled off at a slip road, then changed his mind at the last possible momen  before the slip road became a grass bank, pulled right out in front of me , with another vehicle on my right I could not pull over. Next thing as I went for the brake pedal, the maxidot lit and brakes were applied. IN future I will ensure that the radar cover is always clean, in my case it only just beat me to the brakes but another time might save me and my passengers from a very nasty accident. I must also add that it was a Skoda that pulled out.

No-one sits on the fence here , it's illegal ;)

Painful too..........

You were 'saved' by the 'Front Assist' function, not the ACC....
