That's great news, just been told that mine could be another 2 weeks before it moves from Grimsby to the dealer 39 miles away.  Its already been at Grimsby 5 days.

I should have been more clear... dealer said it was in UK port 17th March and will be with them in 5 working days... So the en-route was my [very hopeful] assumption. Will keep you posted on any news. My Octavia 2 yrs ago went via Sheerness. I can only hope Superb will go the same route as I am London based. Good luck with yours!

Once again, same here mate. Mine arrived in Grimsby last Thursday and the dealer rang today to say it'll be April before I see it now, so end of next week if I'm lucky.

Just a shame there is no option of picking it up from the factory.....probably save a good month!!

A dealer I visited suggested delivery might be in time for Christmas because the S3 has been voted the best by What Car magazine.

Funny you say that as I grew up less than 30mins from where S3 is made. (Kvasiny). How many times in crossed my mind to order in CZE and just drive it to the UK. As I make the journey few times a year it is measly 14 hours. As opposed to a month ;o(((

 

I guess it is not as simple. Reg, paperwork, legal stuff all that...

I know Mercedes used to give that option including an overnight stay.....too much trouble these days I suppose.

Very happy to say that our new car has finally arrived at the dealers. The salesman has been trying to call me all afternoon but I just couldn´t take his call due to work. So, at 17:40 (Swedish time) he sent me an email which I just read. Will call him tomorrow morning to discuss delivery. I think because of the Easter weekend we are looking at picking up next week.

 

Car ordered 27th November and arrives at the dealer at little over 16 weeks later. So not too bad really since we were told originally 12-16 weeks.

 

Now the only delay is when we can pick it up.

After speaking to our salesman earlier today I was inquisitve to know exactly when the car arrived. It came the night between Monday and Tuesday I was told.

 

The lead time from order to delivery has been 116 days or aproxiamately 16 weeks.

 

Since we placed our order late Friday evening on the 27th November the order was probably not placed with the factory until the 28th or possibly the 30th.

 

Build week was week 9. We were told on the 2nd March that our car had left the factory. So approximately 13 weeks from order to assembly.

 

And finally from factory to dealer approximately 3 weeks.

 

I would say looking back yes it was a long wait but not bad considering that we were given a projected delivery time of between 12-16 weeks.

 

I mentioned the delays that have been talked about on this forum and he said that we have been very lucky. He confirmed that there were long delays out of the factory and especially with the L&K models. Even here in Sweden our car had arrived "quicker" than others ordered through this particular dealer. On the positive side sales had been very good.

 

We plan to pick up our car next Friday so that we can skip the legal requirement to have winter tyres and instead drive out with summer tyres. Plus we booked in a few extras which will be done before delivery. I will write about that in another thread (Combi 2016 L&K TSI 180 DSG7 ordered).

 

Really looking forward to a Superb Spring. :sun: Sorry, I just had to.

Yes guys it's true! My car was ordered on the 10th of February, I saw it at the dealers today and I collect it next Friday...

 

BUT it is April fools day.

 

Can't wait.
