Opening and closing the windows (Problem?).

Featured Replies

In the owners manual it is written:

"The window can be completely opened automatically by briefly pressing the button as far as the stop. Renewed pressing of the button causes the window to stop immediately."

Also for closing the windows it is written:

"The window can also be fully closed automatically by pulling the button up to the stop. Renewed pulling of the button causes the window to stop immediately."

But in my Superb it is not like this. If I want to open window completely, I need to press and hold the button until window is completely opened. It is the same when I want to close window. I need to pull the button and hold it until window is completely closed. It does not work as it is described in Owner manual.

Is there some option somewhere in infotainment which can be enabled/disabled to activate/deactivate that feature which is described in Owners manual?

Anyone else have the similar issue?

If the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, it is possible that the automatic window lifter will not operate. The system must be activated.

Activation sequence

Switch-on the ignition.Pull the top edge of the button and close the window.Release the button.Pull the relevant button upwards again for approx. 1 second, and keep it pressed down.

That should reset it, you will have to do this for all your windows

Hiya

Sorry for renewing an old thread.

So I picked up my car yesterday and the drives window auto closes with one touch but does not auto open with one touch.

However the other 3 windows are fine.

I suspect a faulty drives window switch.... But I guess I will try the above method of resetting

Anyone else had this??

Are you lifting the lever far enough?

In order to get one touch the lever has to be pulled or pushed to it's furthest extent. This is easy to do when you are pushing down to close it but not so easy when you are pulling up.

I actually encountered similar issue too. It seems to do it about 50-60% of the time. The other time, it wont go down/up automatically and will need another attempt before it goes down/up automatically.

Yes, I have it on my drivers side switch.  Only happens on auto opening and maybe 50% of the time.  I suspect it's a faulty switch as If press the switch down until I feel it 'click' then release it immediately it will auto-open, it's got to be done pretty fast, with no delays.  It's definitely not behaving like the other window switches and actually don't feel as positive when pushing the switch down.

Hiya all

So I've tried the above reset method and it failed.. I have to say all other window switch have a definite 'end point' however the drives feels different.. Difficult to describe.

Holding the open car button on the remote drops all the windows so the functionality is there so to speak

So the only conclusion is a faulty drivers window switch

It doesn't put a dampener on my new car more an annoying niggle the warranty will put right..

I suspect I have the same issue.  As you say, it's hard to describe the difference in how the drivers switch feels, it's definitely not as 'positive' as the other switches when you depress it all the way.

Thanks for the reply penguin17

The only other explanation is at some point water ingress into a open drivers window might have done something.

Water has a habit of not playing ball when coupled with electrics

When I have the time I'll pop it down to a Skoda garage for them to have a look.

Might take a week or so but will let you know the outcome
