Can you not just register (join) and then ask ?

Xeon5 that posts here has a Twincharger Polo GTI,

& vrskeith's partner has a new Polo GTI on order, and there are others in the thread in 'general chat' that own the 1.8TSi

Polo GTI's.

Maybe they can help.

?

Can we help here maybe on your question?

How have we ever managed to get to a point where a forum is used to ask people how to use a forum?

I blame the internet...

Audi A1 does too..

Question... why??

Because it lets you have more choice on the Induction Intakes you fit without going for a smaller battery or turning it.

You can remove the 25kg rear Ballast weights from the Crash Bar, the 20 kg spare wheel and put the battery in the boot and then check out the handling.

Or just Turn the Battery in the engine compartment.

Fitting the Battery in the boot is no problem.

The Polo GTI had the Spare Wheel as a Option and you had to buy a Battery Cover.

Wiring from front to rear depends on your skills or mates skills.

Examples.

(type search into Google Images, find the pictures, and read the pages.)

The second picture has like a metal floor that's what I was kinda after haven't got a problem wiring it in its just securing the battery somehow idealy without drilling the floor which is why wanted to look how the polo gti was

Ant-vrs on here moved his to make space.

Looks well.

Grantwebster,

Can you not go look at a Polo GTI for sale at a dealers, or ask someone local if you see a GTI to 'show you theirs'.

Maybe buy a Rear Battery Carrier from a Breaker / Auto Salvage, Ebay, VW etc.

(Ahh, re post #1, was that what you wanted to ask on a Forum, Can i look at your rear end?)

You have the Centre hole for the Spare Wheel securing (Threaded hole.)to utilise for fixing a battery carrier to,

fabricate something. DIY!

Why does drilling the floor of the spare tyre well concern you.?

**You are taking a cable through, fitting an earth anyway when doing it neatly.**

It is really not an issue for your Corrosion Warranty. (& your car is modified, so modify as you wish, just do it safely.)

You need to secure what ever battery carrier you use.  Just drill the holes, clean then etch and prime and paint the holes.

Fit a battery carrier, seal the holes / bolts, paint any nuts  / bolt heads under the car.

Or make a carried the fits in the Spare Tyre well that will be secure, and if you are carrying a spare wheel make an arrangement to cover the battery and put the Spare over the battery.

ie Make or buy a Battery Box.

.............

As an alternative fit the battery at the rear passenger side.(the side you remove 25kg of ballast weights from)

Cut the Floor covering at the side in the boot, then secure a Battery Box on the higher part of the boot space

at the side, as people do when fitting 2nd batteries to power their ICE or Leisure Batteries.

Just some more ideas / examples for you.

You can buy various types of Battery Boxes for Marine and Caravan use and then fit these with a suitable carrier.
