No AUX socket in 13 Rapid Elegance

Featured Replies

I have just recently purchased a Rapid Elegance and am quite surprised and disappointed that it does not have an AUX socket considering that it is the Elegance spec. The Swing HU does not have the AUX link listed in its media selection either. Anybody else have the same experience with a 2013 Rapid and is there any remedy without having to change the HU? I'm aware it is not a major job to fit an AUX socket but will I find any way to pick up this AUX on the Swing?

Thanks readers in advance if you can help.

Is it not in the centre console?

An AUX socket has three conductors, one for each channel and one common earth. Use this photo I took from my car to wire them accordingly.

2012/13 specs were very sparse but I'm pretty sure the MDI in the centre console was fitted - especcially in the top of the range car.

MDI is different from AUX though. Mine for example came with the Swing, AUX but not MDI.

How to find Aux selections for Swing is listed on p4 of the 2012 Swing Manual at the top thread on the Rapid Forums page.

Any help?

it also says this which does not seem right but you never know-

External sources Input AUX › The input for external audio sources AUX is located under the armrest of the front seats. › Activate the AUX input by pressing the button MEDIA and by subsequently pressing the function key AUX .
