Thanks for all your efforts Shifty but it may be in vein as Google video tells me that this facility is not available in this country and videos don't play??

Maybe my PC is not setup correct??

PS it hasn't appeared yet but there is an interesting video with Fabia vRS (with Biskoda sticker) vs Scooby! Anyone here? although it won't play with above message!

North East Uk is a different country? Wondered why you all spoke funny up there. :D:rofl:

It does work here mate, but as yet they are not "live". If you can stand a 10mb email, ill send one on to you in the meantime.

And the clip you refer to is in a thread called "video".

I have a milltek fitted and love the sound it makes. I've been in fabia tdi's car (VRS) which has a blueflame exhaust and tbh, there is little difference in sound within the car.

For me, the milltek has a nice, smooth and deep sound - not loud, but loud enough. With the sport cat, the turbo can be heard spinning up with windows down, which is nice. The build quality on my milltek is spot on - having seen the fitted exhaust from underneath and inspected the welds, it gets my full recommendation. I also like the twin pipe exit.

Each to their own I suppose, but I will definately be buying a Milltek for my next car, what ever that is!

Are there still issues regarding fitting a Bluflame? As in not sitting centrally in the cut-out etc?

John.

Depends on your choice of tailpipe' date=' and if they fit it or not. I chose an oval pipe, and they fitted it. So im happy.

Anyway, soundclips have finally appeared on google video - http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=blueflame

Quality quite poor, but best i could do at short notice. Enjoy.

Thanks Bananaman.

Not considered powerflow to be honest and it's difficult to gauge the sound from these clips but it's very much appreciated the efforts you have gone to.

Can I ask where you got it from, as you're not too far away from me in Newcastle?

Are you coming to the Teesside meet as it would be great to have a listen?

Got a Milltek on SWMBO's car (non Skoda) fitted myself, its a top piece of kit, fitted exactly in the std place, it also came with clamps etc supplied, it gives a deep burble (like a big V) but can be very indescrete if needed be.

I would have NO hesitation on buying another.

You fecker!

I had the volume turned right up and was leaning towards my speakers thinking to myself this is a quiet exhaust when all of a sudden you booted it and made me nearly poo myself

Sounds nice though

One question guys

Do these systems give any noticeable benefits at all, what I am getting at is are they just smart looking with a nicer noise or does the Bum dyno or even a real dyno indicate any power increases or acceleration improvements due to turbo spooling up faster etc etc.

I am still having prob's getting my head around the concept of a performance diesel exhaust system.

Not a troll or a dig, just genuine interest in what you think / know :)

fluff'

ermm teeside meet not really read about it but i will let you know...i got it fitted at tyrespot on scotwood road.i know a guy who knows a guy and i can basically get discount on any car parts that they sell

heheheh sorry matt D its quite a loud exhaust system. ive been told/seen/heard ma car move and its quite ermm peachy...

and to mr fluff meister.. i have no idea if it makes any performance difference and if it was toit would be slight... i just couldnt bear the fact it had no exhaust note at all.. and as far as i know the oem zaust was quite restrictive and i know this zaust is less (nearly a straight through pipe) so u could argue it makes it exhale more freely

Blueflame say that this exhaust was developed for a well mentioned tuning company who advertise on here, with performance being the key purpose of it. In reality, yes, the turbo spools up quicker, less lag etc. I cant say ive noticed a massive performance gain as such, but as you know Fluff, waiting for my map to be tweaked to take it into account. Irrespective of any performance gain, i personally would have parted with cash just for the sound alone. :D

@ matt d, :rofl::D

I think Milltek claim 8-10 bhp increase from just the cat-back system.

Then I may part with some cash as I have a good relationship with the bike side up there, they used my bike to do some development work, so I feel a phone call coming on.

Don't forget some swap's of info after the 17th m8

I hope the Skoda Blueflame exhausts fit properly. They certainly didn't on my Elise and I know plenty of others who had fitting problems too. It sounded pretty good, but I now have a Janspeed exhaust manifold, sports cat and Supersport backbox and you need to hear it to believe how good that sounds!!

Has anyone got any pics of Blueflame with custom double tip like the Milltek one?

  • 2 weeks later...

i drive a fabia elegance 2005 and just fitted front and rear fabia VRS bumpers

recently, contacted milltek sports and they are more than willing to convert a VRS exhaust. cat back system for my elegance at no extra cost.........not sure how it,s going to sound but im told it will be very distinctive

i guess they are going to make a reducer for me as they requested the diamiter of my fitted pipe.................any comments on this would be much appriciated

cheers guys

I have just had installed a full Miltek with Sports Cat Stainless Steel System by AMD. Prior to ths install AMD completed an on the rollers ecu upgrade. After the ECU upgrade the log showed around 180BHP + 299 ft/lbs torque. I was very impressed with the ECU upgrade.

After fitting the Miltek system a re-run on the rollers showed no improvement to BHP or Torque, (K&N filter also fittted) I have queried this with AMD and they pointed out that the turque & BHP curves were very much smother with a definite improvement in the mid-rage readings. However I am going to be speaking to Miltek as I am not really that happy from a performace point of view having shelled out

I've not had a remap and I get the deeper exhaust noise from my Milltek as I reach 3000 revs. Not sure of the significance if any, just thought I would mention it. I'm very pleased with mine. :)

Like jifster, I've got a Milltek but no remap (yet). It sounds rounded and burbly above 2000 rpm, and the car was RR'd at 8 BHP more than before the exhaust was fitted.

Thanks for the review ajmandy.

Very useful and it's confirmed just about everything that I was thinking about an exhaust upgrade.

I have always thought the the bhp/torque increase would be minimal which is why I was considering just the cat-back system (cheaper) and was just wanting to change the noise to make it sound more sporting! The added bonus of the twin tail pipes also appeals although it does lose some of it's stealth.

I just wonder if you may have got better results from the dyno if the exhaust was fitted first before the rolling road remap. That way, AMD may have experimented with different maps to see if there could have been an improvement.

PS It may be academic as the std. clutch can only take up to circa 320 lbs torque before slippage!

  • 1 month later...

thats a good little circuit you got there
