can't connect iphones to bluetooth (Amundsen)

Featured Replies

Hello

Bought Superb May last year, car is Jan 2012 2.0 tdi model with Amundsen sound system. Overall a lovely car BUT

Can't get any phones (iphones) to connect (have tried 4S, 5S, 6s) via bluetooth. Have read manual, looked online.  I think I have tried all the obvious things one should check. Car and phone simply both seem to search and never find one another. Have never got as far as being asked for a PIN or anything.

- Car doesn't have a list of devices in it from previous owner,

- bluetooth switched on on phones,

- both phone and car show 'searching' for the first few mins at least

- made sure to restart car engine because I know it only searches for first 3 mins

- the phones (mine at least, 4S) have worked before with eg bluetooth earpieces before with minimal hassle

... etc etc ... it just never works.

It would be great to get it working as my wife particularly would use it daily with her phone.

  Any help gratefully received!!

I have always found if you search for Skoda BT on your I phone when pairing usually works.

May require enabling with VCDS depending on the Amundsen unit.

I'd say the most likely problem is that you have a rSAP only bluetooth module that isn't compatible with iPhones.

Either a VCDS scan or reading the part number from the bluetooth module will confirm it. I'm not too familiar with the OEM location for the bluetooth module in a Superb but I'd expect it to be under one of the front seats.
