Hi all,

 

I've just bought myself a new car, well, an old car, but new to me.

 

It's the Skoda Octavia 1.9TDi 4x4 estate. Seems like a nice clean motor with 6 gears, tow bar, plenty of knobs and dials and the ability to tow my trailer tent/caravan etc. It's done 135000 miles, but i'm quite familiar with these engines as have had a  Fabia, Seat Toledo, and Alhambra with different TDI's in them.

 

Thought I'd register on here as a resource for some of the common issues. It's a little jerky when under load, so going to take a look at the EGR and turbo vacumm hoses this weekend. Failing that it'll be Mr Muscle in the turbo and checking the MAF meter
