I've got the owners email address still & we're in 'conversation'. I've asked him a heap of questions so I'll see how forthcoming the info is !

  • I just took the plunge last week and got a 2010 Fabia VRS and love it, I was slightly put off by the oil issues, and from what I can gather mainly effect the CAVE engined cars which a 2010/2011 would

I've owned mine just over two years now and it's never missed a beat. 2011 CAVE mine is. Oil can be an issue but I kinda expect some usage due to the type of car. I'd say top up between 1/2 litres bet

Hmmm Cat C and no history, plus the weird spring advisory, I would probably avoid, mine was just over £6K from a main dealer but fully stamped service book 38K and honestly in pretty immaculate condition and well spec'd.

Starting to think the same . In fact just realised there's the Reading dealer a few miles from home.. possible weekend visit :)

I was lucky I'd gone up to Carlisle to see a Leon FR (had put a deposit down over the phone) was an 07 plate, looked a messy when I got there, mayo under oil cap, stank of dog, scuffed alloys, and to top that broke down on the test drive, so I had a quick look on the autotrader app and found the Vrs in Dumfries, got my deposit back drove the 30 mins to dumfries, VRS was 3 years newer half the mileage was immaculate was £700 more than the leon but I didn't think twice especially as tax was half that of the leon, insurance was less and it didn't stink of dog lols

can I check - the big 'airbag' button on the dash- it disables the passenger airbag?

Yes you turn it off at the passenger side of the dash the Off Warning Light shows in the middle.

EDIT,

That is the On / OFF you see when you open the passenger side door.

Going to see a nice one next month with a view to buying :)

Are these models cheap to insure?

I find running cost exceptionally good on these models. Provided it's good history. My only concern Is I don't drive it enough.

^^^

My insurance is £200 per year - was over £300 on MKI Fabia vRS.

Nice car, always liked the Green & White Combo.

Really liking the wheels too, did you get the standard wheels with it as well?

Looks nice, loving the wheels

No just the lightweight white alloys. Wasnt 100% sure about them - until saw the car in the flesh. Looks FAB. Getting used to the gearbox slowly...

Don't have any experience with them myself but make sure you get the right ones. OEM wheels tend to use radius bolts whereas aftermarket tend to use tapered bolts.

The car should have one locking nut per wheel anyway so if someone manages to/can be bothered to steal them then I'd say be my guest. I know it can vary throughout the UK but in my view stolen alloys is a bit of an early 2000s crime so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

These are factory fit wheels.. but good point I'll call Skoda & confirm what the bolts need to be.

Needs a new full set anyhow as the current ones are getting corroded.. want my 'new' car to be a stunning as possible!!

Remove one & check it ditch the original Skoda locking nut it's shocking

Also measure the bolts prob 17mm & then put Wheel Nut Covers in Ebay & you will get a set to hide the bolts

Those are not Factory Fit White Gigaro on the car.

Andy had different wheels on.
