2014 automatic folding mirrors?

Featured Replies

Tried find here, but not finded. Is any coding to automatic folding mirrors after car lock? I can only switch manually or by remote holding the knob. Have memory for seats, I think I have all what can be neded, only dont know what coding. Tried switch ON in VAG all choices to folding or foldable mirrors, like for example for Octavia II, but did not work...

No coding, manual operation with keyfob only.

I wanted this as well. :dull:

Quite weird that its not available as an option

Got used to it on my Merc..

I really don't think holding the locking button for 2 seconds is a big deal - I do it "automatically" every time I lock the car now....

I had folding mirrors on my Mondeo, which cooperated nicely with keyless entry. Pressing the keyfob to fold mirrors is so 20th century.

Besides, Mondeo keyless had sensors in all doors. To open the back door of kessy Superb you have to open the front door first. Nonsense. Not the place to spare money.

You don't have to open the front door, just touch the inside of the handle.

I just barely touch the handle for mine to work.

I meant unlock. Doesn`t make any difference.

If it is not unlocking your other doors when you touch the handle then you need to change your settings as it is set on only unlocking the drivers door, this can as I have be altered to unlock all your doors.

I meant, to open Mondeo`s back door, you just grab the handle. It has keyless entry sensors built in all doors. To open Superb`s back door, you have first unlock front door and then open the back door. Very annoing, coming with hands full to drop all your stuff to back seat. Skoda 2 keyless sensors versus Mondeo 4 sensors.

Like the Mondeo version of door opening on all doors.

Seems it has the same programming as the "lowlife cheap seats" non-kessy version - press once for the drivers door and quickly press again for all the doors... Gawd, I'm utterly exhausted even thinking about all this pressing marlarky....

That has nothing to do with cost cutting, it's an option you can (de)activate using either the Maxidot or with Vagcom.

Press once to unlock all doors

or

Press once to unlock drivers door, press once more to unlock all doors

Safety feature for when you're often out and about alone, and when you walk back to your car you press once, car unlocks just the drivers door. Gives thieves no chance to jump in the passenger side...

You all seem to forget Skoda is marketed as the cheap car of the VAG group. If you want more options, higher prices, fancier badges, they want you to shop at the VW or Audi dealer up the street.

The folding mirrors question comes up every few weeks. The answer is simple. Buy an Audi (or any car of the VAG group that has that option).

Yeah I get all that, and the fact you can change the features in Maxidot but I think you're missing my point I was making that the Kessy system seems to operate in exactly the same way as the keyfob based system, that's all...

That could be true. If VAG was the only one to offer keyless systems. But nowadays every single manufacturer equipts even their low-mid-class cars with this option. Ok, Superb II - I could understand it, but Supeb III and still this half functioning keyless entry?

And - for the same price I can get AWD Mondeo with fully functioning keyless, LED lights etc etc if I was after fancyness.

Well you can always get a mondeo then...sounds like you should have! Better deal all round eh?

Ford's flagship car vs. Vag's budget brand poor man's limo...WITH automatic folding mirrors!

Don`t get too sarcastic. If I was buying a family car, I would go for Mondeo. But I was going for a working horse. Superb has better loading and towing capabilities, also cheaper to manintain. Folding mirrors are just a piece in a bunch of budget solutions. Mondeo is a half class higher car.

By the way, Ford`s flagship is not Mondeo, but Lincoln MKS.

P.S. My Superb did cost 43 000 euros. Cannot call it a budget car. For this money you would expect some functionality.
