Amundsen update problem - road names not displaying

Featured Replies

I've successfully downloaded the update, and moved the data onto the SD card. All aspects of the update seem fine. BUT the street names and numbers (A14, M11, etc) are not displayed even though the boxes for such dat are displayed. The dashboard navigation does display the name of the street I'm driving along. So the data must be there, but not showing on the screen.

Hi, this may well be too late, but I had this exact problem and found a solution.

Did you download the map files onto an SD card using a Mac? If so the Mac might have added some hidden files and folders that the skoda can't deal with. The solution is to use a clean-up app to remove these hidden files and folders for you. I used an app called Blue Harvest which did exactly what was needed albeit at a price. There are others I'm sure.

It is not as simple as just manually enabling "view hidden folders" by the way. I tried that and deleted a handful of top level hidden folders, but that wasn't enough.

Hope that helps.

This fixed it for me too.

Hello, sorry to butt in but where do you get the updates from?

When it's not broken.... which it seems to be a lot of the time.

I've always found it "pot luck".

Thank you. I tried it but it said " Your navigation can be updated only at the service. Please contact your dealer for more information".

Appears to be working at the moment. :)

Because the Amundsen in a 2012 Superb doesn't benefit from the free updates which the Amundsen 2 gets. You need a single use SD card to update your unit.

Oh OK many thanks. Still much to learn.

Not your fault, it's a common misconception really. Same name, different units completely. Not helped by the fact that this post is in the ICE section which isn't model specific, so no one knows who's talking about what units until they ask.

If you search on the forum you'll find someone posted a few days ago that V9 is now available from Ebay. I think that should sort you out.
