MIB2 infotainment system update.

Featured Replies

Hello fellow Skoda enjoyers,

I have Superb 3, 2015 (pre-facelift) and I am eager to update my software so I can get the new languages (Bulgarian is available on newer models 😭) / ??ambient lightening options?? (current has only 3 options) and other features.

What I have:

  • Ambition to DIY it.

  • Computer skills

  • Pictures that will be attached with all the infotainment information I was able to find myself.

  • USB and SD card

What I do not have

  • Car diagnostics

  • Idea how these things work.

What I did so far:

  • Researched about the infotainment system and as far as I understand, Amundsen system is a bit bad as per Bri(skoda) standards and nothing much can be done about.

  • Went to - updateportal.skoda-auto.com, and used my VIN to check - it seems I have "ECE 2026" update.

  • Connected the car via hotspot and tried update over air, but when I queried for new software update - it said that there's none.

  • Saw that 0330 firmware is available and people use it.

So my question is - can you guys advise me if:

  • My system is up to date? - Given first picture - ECE 2016 - I'd say it was never updated.

  • If I update with ECE 2026 (map update), will it add the new languages or I need to update firmware (menu 10 seconds thing that says 0318) with the files that are floating around.

  • If I need to update firmware - is this something a car enthusiast can do, or should I go to some unofficial software update person?

Thank you guys in advance,

Petar

I have recently updated my headunit, I have the mIB 2.5 version from when it was produced, 2018 to the latest version with no issues. I followed the MIB2 to MIB2.5 upgrade doc which was done by @JR RS

You have correct link for the map update, I went there and did mine from 2018 to 2025/26
