Recommend a good standard turbo

Featured Replies

Due to annoying occasional limp mode, I have decided to change my turbo having tried oven cleaner with some, but qualified success for two years. Given the engine will be stripped down for a new belt kit next month I might as well take the hit now.

The car is a 2.0 tdi pd140 pre FL. Can anyone recommend a good ebay or other seller of stock turbos please? I'm not uprating it as I don't want expense of other parts and I don't mind sending my old one back.

Thanks in advance

The "entry level" hybrids are bolt on and nothing else except remap is required. Very good option how to get to 200bhp mark easily without any modifications.

For recon standard turbo you can contact turbo technics (who has modified vanes so they don't get sticky so quickly), turbo dynamics, AET turbos or Midland turbo. Plenty of options. Even euro car parts are selling turbos on exchange bases.

Thanks guys. I knew about xmaN but when i spoke to him he specialises in uprated kits. But I have a shark remap so maybe I will consider an entry level one, depending on the insurance impact.

Thanks again

If your car is already remapped, get stock turbo. If you decide to go with entry level hybrid, you will need to get it remap again to suit the turbo. Speak to [url-http://www.briskoda.net/forums/user/953-faboka-vrs/]faboka[/url], he will do you nice smooth map for a bit better price than Sharks.

Thanks guys.

Just for information - how do you know that your problem is turbo related?

Its occasional limp mode periodically fixed with the Mr Muscle treatment, but it eventually returns - I am pretty certain its clogged vanes and one of them is a little damaged having gone in the underneath route last time to apply the Mr Muscle...
