Hi, I do  a leisurely 25 miles to work - mainly A roads and roundabouts - and shows between 55 and 59 mpg regularly. Whatever you achieve, at least it'll be done in a great car.

I get about 45mpg in mixed London/motorway/provinces.

It's probably a bit worse than this in reality as the front wheels seem to spin a lot giving an incorrect mileage.............

Is there that much wheel spin??  Do you think the 190 is a step too far on FWD only?

Is yours a Hatch or Combi? I drive my DSG like a Nun and haven't seen better than 52.5mpg with average around 46 on Eco.

We used to get wheel spin with our V6 diesel that was only 160 B.H.P. !

I would say it’s about on the limit, anyone who is considering a remapped 190 should really go for the 4x4 IMO.

I completely agree cold, wet, dirty roads and it spins in second, at the moment it's fine. You still get a bit out of slow tight corners though.

It is bloody rapid down country lanes and you can fit 3meter lengths of timber in it what more could you want.

Took some readings from the "Driving Data" today:

Long term                      1854 miles @ 48.2 mpg

Since refuelling                501 miles @ 53.1 mpg

Clocked just over 60 mpg on 25 mile journey to work this morning driving conservatively, no heating on etc and using ACC as much as possible.

Car is the Hatch rather than Combi.

It's fun playing about with all he gizmos - loving the Eco leaf and pushing up to the 90 efficiency figure! But can't see this frugality lasting much longer, what with the roads drying and longer daylight - need for speed is getting too tempting...
