Throttle pedal bottom 'notch / click"

Featured Replies

I have noticed when at full throttle if I press a little harder there's a 'notch/click' and the pedal goes another half inch or so.....

Is this just for kick down on DSG cars or does it serve any purpose on the manual gearbox cars ?

Found a post about it in the OCTY 3 section too..

In Eco mode, full pedal before the notch is mapped to about 75% throttle; you only get 100% in kickdown, it gives a nice boost.  In Normal and Sport, full pedal is 100% throttle so the kickdown has no effect.

I noted this on the launch cars...

I was told I was imagining it and none of the other reviewers I mentioned it to seemed to care much either.

Thank you for clearing it up so that I'm not mad :) Quite how no-one else discovered it on empty Scottish a/b roads I'll never fathom out though.

You must've been the only one who tried Eco mode!  If only kickdown in Sport would give 125% :D

On other brands kickdown also overrides speed limiter/cruise control (with manual gearbox). Not sure if that's also true on Skoda.

Def the notch click on mine.... When pressed nose bleeds usually follow ...

I can confirm after a drive in eco mode if you floor it to the stop point you hit a end of range in power and then if you push through the notch the engine picks up a bit more ..

Makes no difference in sport mode.

Got mine in Eco drive mode in Individual setting for drive only.

It was more no one else felt it. They were all diesels so maybe professional journalists just don't go there :P
