Removable towbar, removing the key?

Featured Replies

I have the removable towbar, factory fit.

I put in on last summer, and just let it stay on though the winter.

Today I removed it. And I cant get key out after its removed. Is it supposed to stay stuck in? Its so long since I attached I simply cant remember.....

The key comes out just fine if I attach the towbar to the car again.

Sounds right to me, mine isn't a factory fit but, works the same way

Yep, that's the way it's supposed to work.

Take CARE.

I left my key in the removed bar and broke the key - just flat with the key holder.  It is remarkably hard to remove as there is little to grip and pull.

Now I have to find how to get a spare key.  Skoda.cz told me to go to my local car vendor.

Any other ideas?

With my removable tow-bar hook occasionally, when I remove it, the key stays in; at other times it comes out. I think it is meant to come out because it is out when you get the car and the 'ook is in the spare wheel tool holder.

On the times when the key has stuck I've offered up the 'ook again and smartly removed it with a firmer flick of the lever then usually the key comes out.
