Hi, I'm Dave

:) Hi, I'm David McKinney, I've been into Skodas since I was 12, I'm 33 now!! I am more into the older Skodas than the new ones to be honest, but I am open minded. I am part of the committee of the Skoda Owners Club G.B. [Treasurer]

My cars consist of 2 Rapids and a kit car using a badly rusted Rapid as a donor. [bugrat]

Welcome Dave

Good to see more of the rapid's been used, better to salvage then let another go.

Have a good stay on Briskoda.

Thanks Colin,

How do the older models [rear engined and Favorits] go down here? This site is obviously more geared towards the later models, but are the older models appreciated and accepted on here? I like the newer cars too, but feel that the oldies have a special charm that I just love.

Hello Dave...welcome.

Dave,

Personally I always considered owning an old car a greater act than a new car. I love to see the old cars out and about, but numbers of owners versus the new market size means some appearance of bias...

As to going down on here, I think they get on just fine. I'd love to see a few on a meet or two over the coming year.

We were scouring various sites for a project car, but I'm afraid a 14 year old 325bmw came to us for virtual song...

So now I'm into old cars...so you'll be just fine, in fact growing by the week.

welcome to briskoda

Welcome to Briskoda Dave!

The number of members with older Skodas seems to have increased in recent months, but still not a huge number.

I'd love to see some old-skool Skodas at meets next year.

Would be nice to have a mental Favorit, or a rear engined Rapide or similar, but ah well. One day maybe.

I've had a Favorit (or 5 ) and hence have a wee soft spot for them.

Hi Dave, I am James.

Welcome

Welcome, we used to have a favorit... never a problem... found only the interior fell apart.... but that was solved by replacing plastic pins with bic pen lids!!

Welcome from me too. :D

Had two favorits and a felicia in the past replaced for more space, power is all , by the way HELLO

hey Dave and welcome...

i love the old skodas too, fond memories of my dads old 105 and 130lux.

the 130lux was the car my dad taught me to powerslide in, oh the good old days... :D

:) As can be seen on my sig, I now have 2 fwd Skodas, a Mk1 Favorit, and a Mk1 Felicia. Who says I don't keep up with the times?:D:thumbup:

Blimey! You will be buying a Fabia next. :D

Hello Dave, re older Skodas.

My mate used to have a Rapid (e?) with an exhaust that a boy scout could crawl up, and bigger wheels , maybe 15 years ago, I drove it a few times, and was always impressed by its' implausible performance and handling, far superior to my treasured Beetle 1303 that cost 10 times as much ! Enjoy the site. Its been very helpful and informatative for me.!
