Xenon Bulb Change

Featured Replies

When changing the Xenon bulb, do i need to disconnect the batter or remove the headlight fuse?

Probably safest to remove the fuse. Definitely make sure the lighting switch is off at least.

I have had to work on mine due to a major, minor fault. Small plug loose on circuit board inside the headlight assembly causing high beam flap to be temperamental. Adaptive Xenon's.

Says manufacturer replacement only, but it is a bumper off job on the A4. Hopefully more simple on yours.

Remember ' no finger prints' on the bulb.

NB Although you do not have to do what the handbook says, it is always worth a look for any specific instructions, just in case.

The headlights come off the car for a bulb change, so there is no need to disconnect the battery.

Pull the metal lever and undo the plastic nut on the back of the light and it will side out completely.

They the same as the standard 'halogen' headlight set up then? (on the Octavia's).

I was trying to remember why I couldn't remember taking the fuse out on my A4. I had to take the whole headlight out to work on it, doh.

Thanks. Managed to change them following a guide I found here. Took about 20 min per headlight.
