Must have extras...!

Featured Replies

I'm ordering the Superb III L&K 190bhp for January '17 so still have loads of time to place the order and dream about it. I'm fully aware that the L&K is already loaded, but.... Are there any extras worth getting, you know, extra? I'm getting the integrated towbar and front heated winscreen along with crew airbags for the family. I'll only tow maybe 10 times a year. Would anyone suggest a different sound system than what comes in the L&K or different wheels for smoother ride?

Private purchase or lease ?

Some say they will load a 2yr lease car to the max, but personally i don't see the point over such a short period.

If your unsure on the towbar... watch my demo vid below and im sure it will help you make up your mind.

It's a private purchase outright and it's my intention to keep it for probably give years. Children under ten years so won't have cash in near future to replace it so I plan on getting it right this time round. Currently have a 2009 Octavia 105bhp elegance.

Maybe the rear sun Blinds? Especially with kids in the back. I didn't spec it on mine but think it might have been worth it.

Black leather.

Smart Light Assist.

Paddle shifters.

Travel Assist.

Heated washer nozzles.

Backrest release.

18" Pegasus Anthracite wheels.

I had Columbus/Canton in my Octavia. It's early days for me yet with my Superb but in my opinion the fitted Columbus/Canton sounds far better than it did in my Octavia. I am very impressed with it.

I've understand that you can't order a car in the uk with webasto. But that's a standard option in Sweden on the L&K. So if are prepared to argue a bit with you're dealer, do it. It's wort it. Best option ever. With the "key button" (don't know the name) you can turn the heater on if you are within 600 meters from the car. And during summer you can turn the fan on so the car is ventilated when you need it.

The heated screen is std fit on a UK spec L&K

I chose (and do not regret any of them):

Ventilated leather - 1st time I have had them and they really do work!

19” Phoenix anthracite - look the dogs... I was concerned over the ride quality on 19’s, but I couldn’t have been, my DCC is even set to sport most of the time!

Smart Light Assist - A must on the L&K (as it’s just £100) IMO

Bluetooth & Phone box - not sure it actually helps much, but I pass through several ‘dead’ areas on my commute so every little helps.

Crew Protection Assistant - Have a kid

Rear Airbags - same as above

Heated washer nozzles - for £50 it was daft not to

Rear parking camera - very useful, especially if you have a tow bar (which I do not) so I imagine it would help when hitching up also sop you can get nice and close to what you will be towing

Sun blinds for rear side windows - help to keep the inside of the car cool

Spare wheel - should be std IMO

The only thing I would add to my options if I ordered again is 4x4, the 190 can struggle to put the power down when it is not bone dry, I chose 2WD as it uses around 10% less fuel than the 4WD.

I don't have the ventilated seats as I wanted the alcantara seats.

And I don't think I have the smart light assist. Dealer never asked me about that. Cause I said a big no no no to lain assist. Don't want something warnings me when I overtake without using signals. But besides those two I have everything and then some. Even the panorama sealing!

When I figured out have you get the complete options list with order number as some people put up here, I will too!

Why wouldn't you use signals when overtaking?

Turn indicators do seem to be an optional extra on a lot of cars these days!!

Sometimes my road rage kicks in when someone in front of me doing something stupid. And if then just floor it and starts to overtake the lain assist would try to keep me inside the lines, talk about a potential catastrophe!

It certainly will not keep you in the lane under those circumstances, it will however increase the resistance on the steering meaning you need to turn the wheel harder.

Lane assist resistance can also be personalised or even turned off

Did not know you could turn it off.

When the dealer asked me about that option, my question was "is that something that will buzz, sound or warn me when I'm not using my turn signal" then I don't want it!

She never mentioned it could be turned off or that I would be missing out of a certain option without it. Well, what's done is done. I can turn on and off my high beams like I always have before!

not recommend play that stupid lottery, have never use it, but have only problems

Webasto rocks!!!

there is only small disappointment why system can't decide heat or vent by self, i have to change that value manually

It's a big mystery why that hasn't been sorted yet. Same thing with my Passat -10. They've had 6 years now to fix this but no. Ok it's a small problem to change that manual twice a year.
