Insurance says tsi 230 not 220

Featured Replies

Hi

Have just insured my VRS 220 with admiral and they are saying the reg brings up a tsi 230 and not what I have a tsi 220. Have called the dealer's and they've comfimed its a 220 but the insurance are saying that's what the new reg brings up and its not a problem as its only a description. So what do you guys think?

Also can someone tell me the tyre pressure for 18s on the Octavia Vrs I pick my new one up tonight :)

Cheers

Look inside the filler cap for tyre pressures./ loadings.

Get your insurer to confirm this to you in writing - or at least by email ;)

Hi,

If you wanted to PM me your registration number I'd be happy to check our databases to check the model listed and also if the other model is listed on the system.

Unfortunately whilst the databases are fairly accurate they aren't infallible.

Regards,

Dan

At least your cars power is slightly less, rather than more than the insurance company think.

Its the other way round as the 230 has more BHP

You have 220bhp, the insurance think it has 230bhp.

So you do have less than the insurance company think.

Still, it needs to be correct on their system. Can't be giving them any wriggle room if someone needs to claim, can we.

Thanks for that, I was the first owner of B19 VRS and ran it on a Octavia MK I Vrs (51 plate) and then on a Fabia MK I Vrs (04 plate).  I no longer have the plate but B16 and B19 would have looked good together

Hi

Did you get me PM the other day?

;) .

Go back to Skoda and ask for your extra 10bhp as your paying for it on your insurance.. :D

Confused.com brings up a 220

I had this with Direct Line. Mine's a 220 vRS, but my reg number brought up the 230 on their site. First time round I ignored it and went through the process to get a price. Then I thought I'd better correct it, so did the whole thing again with all info identical except for manually choosing vRS 220 for the vehicle. This gave me a quote 60 quid higher! I went elsewhere.
