I found a rubber part on the rear floor of my car yesterday (see first picture below).

 

After looking at the shape, a quick bit of checking told me it had come off the inside of the inner door handle (I've used an arrow to show the location on the second pic below).

 

The part is just glued on (badly). Now that I know where it comes from - I checked all the handles and found the the drivers one is missing (I got the car when it was 11 months old so i didn't know "my" door should have had one - I just thought the handle didn't feel very nice.

 

Has anyone else had this issue and got it sorted?  I did a forum search and found a members report of a test drive on a Greenline - he complained that Skoda had skimped on the door handle of the Superb II and not used rubber anymore. I think this rubber piece had simply fallen off his test drive car!)

 

 

 

I had this on my Octavia II and just re-glued it back into position. Use a decent glue mind you to ensure it doesn't happen again!
 

Yes, I did that yesterday with the one I found on the floor. Even though the car is under warranty, I know fine well that they would have glued it themselves and not as well as I would...

 

I'll hit the dealer up on the missing one. What I have been wondering is this :What you would do if you are out of warranty and need that part?

 

From what i can see on the online parts databases - it suggests it is the whole door handle assembly or nothing. On the other hand, I'd bet this part is a common one that is falling off plenty of cars across the VAG range, so maybe its easy to source...

Breakers yard or eBay would be my first port of call!

Happened on my door too. It fell off into the gutter when I shut the door and I didn't notice until I got home. Returned the next day and it was still lying in the gutter. Lucky.

I used a hot glue gun to fix it back on and seems fine now.

Happened on my Octy. Main dealers official method is super glue so I did it myself with Gorilla glue.

I did mine with epoxy. Still have to sort the missing one though (got the car when it was just hitting 11 months old and I'm sure the drivers door one was missing then).

 

I'll make it a warranty issue...
