VRS Gemini Wheel Nut Covers

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I got the car washed this evening and when I got home I realised that the pressure washer must have blown off two of the wheel nut covers. I'm driving a VRS with anthracite gemini alloys and, although see a few on ebay (like http://www.ebay.ie/itm/17mm-Tire-Locking-Nut-Bolt-Covers-Caps-Skoda-Fabia-Octavia-Superb-Yeti-/272056278977?hash=item3f57d15fc1 ) I'm wondering if they're even the right colour.

They look the part but I'm not sure. It's annoying as I'd rather not go around without those..!

Plus - anyone know or recommend a crew who can repair scuffed anthracite wheels? I curbed one of them and although the scratch is less than an inch I wouldn't mind keeping the car pristine!

Thanks for reading guys and hope you can help.

You could check with the dealer to get the correct part number or just order direct off the dealer.

That's probably what I'll end up doing but wouldn't mind finding lower cost alternatives - will be interesting to see how much they charge too (expecting normal dealer rate + 'because it's ireland' tax to make it ridiculous).

I seem to remember mine were quite cheap when I replaced some on my mkii but that was UK prices :(

Have you checked eBay for and VW versions as I think they were the same as the Skoda ones.

I'd be taking off another and checking the part number on here:

http://etka.cc/skoda/part_single/catalog/sk/markt/CZ/modell/OCT/year/2016/drive_standart/753/hg_ug/601/subcategory/601080/part_id/2543668/lang/e

Item 11 is where you're looking - at least you'll then know the official colour name to get matching ones.

The alternative is buying another 5 (inc a locking nut cover) - then if they're slightly different, you'll never know as they'll all be the same on one wheel.

I bought mine from the Skoda dealer & if I remember correctly they were about the same price as the SuperSkoda ones.

I think I paid 15CHF to fit to my winter wheels

I "lost" one of mine a couple of months after I got mine home and went asking around if anyone had any going spare. I couldn't get any and had ordered a new one when I was out washing that cars and glanced down and saw something sticking out of the mud on the drive. I dug it up and it was my missing cap so I rinsed it off and squashed it back into shape and stuck it back on. Never come off again.

So I now have and brand new cap. Not only that, after it arrived I was looking through my toolbox and found several more. Having thought I'd looked there when I was looking for one, it came as a surprise. Always helps to have a few spare, especially when you've got more than one car with them.

You should be able to get them readily from the dealer. I think the one I ordered was about 50p (from Briskoda parts). Not sure how that translates into your currency and with whatever tax is added.

Dealers would probably charge more for one than the whole set costs on ebay.

But probably wouldn't sell a solo cap.

Part numbers on the packaging, be aware there are two different types on each wheel, one to cover the locking wheel nut and another four for the non-locking wheel nuts...

Just go and get the right ones from a dealer. They will be pence. Job done

Thank you all for your help.

As always you're a great fountain of knowledge. The part number makes life ten times easier too!

They will be about £1 each from dealer.

The part number should be printed inside the cap.
