Watched the program last night and very enjoyable it was.

 

Shame the van didn't last the distance to really crack the record or do the high speed run.

So all that time and effort and skills and they turn up with just the discs there is on the van, no spares.

Really it is taking things to no extreme really is it, like going to the salt flats with the wrong rubber and no alternatives...

The salt flats were more forgivable if it was inded a bit off the cuff.

 

I guess the disks were just expected to last the 3 or 4 laps. Cracked disks isn;t something I've heard of except for cheap chinese knock offs.

Tight schedule. Rebuild the van,  have the good lady film you and the film crew film you,  no tight budget and set off to break 2 records,  film crew,  supporters,  helicopter filming,  no spare discs or new ones when the engine and gearbox is changed.  Ye right.
