rear brakes clicking

Featured Replies

hey guys and girls.

basicly the problem i have is the rear brakes are clicking on steady to firm braking. they get allot worse when being used on a spirited drive. i had a look for trapped stones and bent heat shields but nothing i can see, the noise started 2 months ago as a creaking when pulling up to stop.

any ideas or experience will be great.

helpful info

car is a 2007 octavia 2 vrs estate

car bought last November

new rear callipers fitted by garage before i collected it. due to being stuck on

not sure if they replaced pads and discs

and there is no juddering coming from the brakes.

Could be the pads are tight in the carrier due to rust build up. Strip clean and copper grease between that pad and caliper points the meet.

well i have tackled the brakes on my car. simply took everything apart and cleaned the dirt and grime out made sure the pad springs where in properly, which one had come loose so refitted that properly. and copper slipped the back of the pads and re assembled. no clicking anymore .

thanks for the suggestions guys
