i'm looking to downgrade from my 2011 fabia vrs to a citigo 

 

i have a non skoda dealer contacted me recently after the one he had been sold. he managed to secure another one for me but its not ready as its still with the owner. 

 

2013 

6,200 miles on clock

full skoda service history

cigito 5 doors elegance 

cruise control (rare in citigo!) 

ex mobility

one owner

ASG gearbox

12 month parts and labour top of range warrnaty with no excess 

his word 'immaculate condition' 

 

for £6999 

 

good price?

Are they taking in the vRS?

 

Being Ex Mobility and 2013, if it was just owned by Motability Finance and returned at 3 years or before it should be MOT'd, 

went to the BCA to be auctioned and 1 Previous Keeper.

Unless the person with it from Motability bought it at end of lease.

 

Ask the dealer, is it 1 Former Keeper?

 

I take it that the Dealer has bought the car at Auction.

It sounds OK as a buy.

all he said he got it from his 'supplier'. i asked who is the supplier. he replied ex motability car as they buy a lot of car from them cos they always 1 owner, full history and immaculate condition

 

yes trading my vrs in . they offer £5800 for my vrs

Good thing is it will have had Services and should have any Service Campaign work done.

They are taking your car.

 

Thing to remember.

Low mileage, some say good, some say not.

One owner was Motability Finance..

One Disabled person was the Keeper, any number of people might drive it, 

3 Insured drivers possible, 

and over 3 years that can be many different drivers, maybe even a family member Boy / Girl racer.

 

But low mileage, so buy a Skoda Warranty as well as whatever the Dealer Provides and you are sorted.

Last October I bought a 64 plate Elegance 3-door with the 75PS engine and metallic paint from a Skoda main dealer. The car was 11 months old, had 1,700 miles on the clock, had its first service and included the remaining 2 years of the warranty and roadside assistance. I paid £6,600.

 

Used values for Citigos are softening and there are lots of nearly new cars that dealers want to move on. I would therefore be inclined to think that £6,900 for a 2013 car with no original warranty is a tad too much. Sure, cars with ASG and cruise control are rarer but I'm not convinced that they are worth a £1,500 premium on a 3 year old car.

You can go to a BCA Auction and buy an Ex Motability car, or any car for 'Much Cheapness'.

 

But you need to sell your car, and selling or trading in a Mk2 Fabia vRS is not simple, or likely to get you good money.

 

So you trade in at a dealers, buy a Automated Manual which are actually not plentiful and maybe pay a bit extra.

 

Thats life, as they say.

 

No point even comparing the price of manual box cars with ASG ones really, 

just what you can get, and where it suits you really.

 

Mk2 Fabia vRS now available used for under £5,000.

Less than 6 years old, maybe less than 5 years old.

Some on the 2nd or 3rd engine and 2nd DSG fitted.

 

Getting a trade in from anyone is a blessing for many.

i see your point George but brand new elegance with ASG cost £10,300 i think. so £3.3k less for over 3 years old?

Have you driven some now, Skoda, Seat or VW and happy enough with them?

i had a cigito morte carlo for 2 weeks when my vrs in garage for new engine fitted. 

 

i loved the cigito very much.

I was not being serious, but they are who is offering for sale the 14 Plate Citigo in the link,

and they likely want another Mk2 vRS like a hole in the head.

 

Getting your car or anyones Twincharger sold or traded in is the issue,

if you can and get goood money then the World is your Oyster.

If going the WBAC route, you will probably automatically get an email where they increase their offer every few days by a few hundred - "your car has increased in value!".

Just ignore their 'phone call - mine came from the nearest branch.

I think £4,500 ended up as £5,000 after a week. Don't forget that they charge a "transaction fee."

I got just under £3200 after transaction charge for my 14 plate Citigo Elegance with 107,000 miles on the clock. Dealer's trader was offering £2600, so nearly £600 up on the deal. Was an easy process too, all done in 20 minutes.

I actually had a better price from a dealer than WBAC were offering. Did the haggling for price on new car through CarWow initially. Once new car price agreed I then got extra £1000 Skoda loyalty and free £500 fuel card in addition. Finally asked if dealer interested in taking my 13 Citigo Elegance (32000 miles) in PX and got an offer of £4950. All of this was done over the net/e-mail. WBAC offer after a couple of revisions was £5000 but after fees was slightly worse than dealers offer.

 

Admittedly this was the purchase of a new car when Skoda were running dealer wide special offers but if you can bide your time they do run offers on used cars as well.

IMO I wouldn't touch an ex motabilty car neither, I know a few people and they do not give a crap about them as its not Thiers and they cost them nothing. This is not all motabilty cars but just ask a dealer the state they are returned in by some people is appalling.

They cost them £2,987.40 a year of their DLA HR Mobility Component, or War Disability or PIP, 

and maybe less if getting a Citigo or other cheaper cars & not using total weekly allowance.

Many pay a deposit. and damage not deemed fair wear and tear can mean paying extra as a penalty.

 

The person leasing pays cash money that would be getting paid in their bank account if not leasing a car from Motability.

 

As to asking Dealers, it is no different from others leasing cars,

other than Inspection Reports are done at Services & Dealer Visits and before end of lease, and the car has warranty work and a MOT 

in the 3 months before handback with Motability.

Then on Excellent Condition the Disabled person that paid to Lease gets Cash Back possibly, you get this if the vehicle

has a low mileage at return.

 

So Motability Lease cars can be very much better than Fleet / Lease vehicles.    Ask a dealer.

There are plenty of sheds, that some people have paid a lot of money for new, and they've been treated just as badly.
