New Kodiaq now on Skoda UK configurator
CFB replied to Kenny R's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKII (2023- )
I was referring to new models in general and not just from Skoda. I agree that test driving the same model facelifted would be a waste of time, I ordered my last 2 Yetis without, In the case of the new Kodiaq, the dash layout is completely different and I need to know I can reach all the knobs and other bits and bobs easily before I commit, as I said above, my needs are very specific. -
New Kodiaq now on Skoda UK configurator

i can’t understand why you would order a new car without a test drive first. Yes, you might get the new model before anyone else, but is it just because you can say “look what I’ve got” I spoke to my dealer yesterday and he tells me that they’re not getting any demonstrators till June at the earliest. I know my needs are more specific than others, but I’m going to wait thanks. -
Nicely put Rooted. A few points to add to your comments… I usually keep my cars for 5 years as they have hand controls fitted, which are expensive. Motability will not allow them to be transferred to a new vehicle, even of the same model. Everyone is entitled to drive the car they choose. Just because you have disability why should it be any different? Yes, the advance payment can be expensive, but if I NEED a bigger “ luxury” car, then I am prepared to cough up. If I choose extras to make my life easier the I have to pay for them as well. Heated screen as I can’t reach far enough to scrape it. Adaptive cruise control too. If you’ve ever tried to drive long distances using hand controls then you’ll understand.

As said above… Ouch! I guess I am lucky in a way, as it would be on Motability so it’s only the up front cost that might tip the balance. However, I have specific needs regarding mobility equipment etc. I will have to have a test drive and see if it all fits first, but having had Skodas for the last 18 yrs without any mechanical issues, I am reluctant to change brand.

Any idea when the full spec brochure is released?

A bit of a daft question, maybe, but I’m not sure ifLED headlamps generate enough heat to melt snow whilst driving?

SWMBO had exactly the same camera fitted to her Octavia by a dashcam fitter. He used a flexible wire thingy to pass the cable through the head lining and with a bit of wiggling, managed to get it through the rubber boot into the tailgate so no messy wires there either. He also fitted the same in the Kodiaq as I couldn’t be @rsed with the glovebox malarkey.

I have a data SIM card and use the Online POI search function. It always gets me right spot without any fuss.

You can download the owners manual here… https://manual.skoda-auto.com/004/en-com/Models I reckon that will help

. It started 2 weeks ago. SWMBO had a blow out in her Octy caused by a massive pothole in the dark. The hole has big enough to get my hand through! Fixed I got a puncture in one of my mobility scooter tyres. Fixed 1 week later, another bloody picture on the other side. Fixed. The day after, said tyre came off the rim as fitter ripped the tube changing it. This morning, the charger has packed up! WTF! This disability lark is very expensive

Well that manual is soooo helpful 😂

The service book is on the Skoda dealer network and you only get the small handbook. The full handbook is Available online from the Skoda website

Software update whilst driving?
CFB replied to kodiaqsportline's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
I think it refers to them continuing while driving, like the Nav updates. I set them going when stationary then I can turn the car off and go indoors or drive off and it continues till completed. -
LED ambient light below side window - can it be replaced?
CFB replied to CainDingle's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
Well you’ve got nothing to lose. Good luck -
I did indeed. I believe the yeti in question is red. I think there are possibly two founder members as this one is a lady. My first was also a 2009, a 110SE 4WD. I had another 2 after that and was looking forward to no 3. Sadly the Karoq didn’t meet my needs due to the sloping rear end so ended up trading up to a Kodiaq, a very nice car but I don’t have the connection with it as I did with the Yeti.

CFB replied to SurreyJohn's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKII (2023- )
I quite like the look of it. Definitely worth a serious look next year when mine comes up for change. Im looking forward to seeing that bronze couloir in the flesh. -
I'm sorry sir or madame, you can't park there.

Just popping in for a quick pint. My nephew’s local. Luckily it was just a small extension so she was up and running again quickly. The repairs have just been completed. https://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news/23325292.car-crashes-railway-tavern-pub-poringland/ -
My iPhone is the first one in the list, and was paired first. SWMBO has an android. Whenever we are both in the car, the Columbus always picks her phone. Annoying! Is there any way I can make it always select my phone as default? TIA

Electric boot not closing properly
CFB replied to xantamisch's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
Mine is just as dirty most of the time! I find the extra weight helps it shut a bit quicker in the rain. 😂 One of the penalties for living in rural Norfolk I guess. He’ll need two buckets to avoid swirl marks in the paint. 😂 Seriously, glad you got it sorted. -
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) / Cruise Control (CC)
CFB replied to Ballast's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
I don’t understand why anyone would want to use standard CC if they have ACC. I have ACC on my Kodiaq and SWMBO has standard CC on her Octavia. She is constantly forgetting this, and has had some surprises when switching back to her car, and no, she’s not a typical woman driver. She drives like a man. -
Electric boot not closing properly
CFB replied to xantamisch's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
Is there any debris that has fallen into the lock cavity stopping the latch engaging properly? Push the sprung cover down to check. Is there debris in the bottom boot seal? -
I waited 14 months for my current car, finally delivered in August 2020
