Hello there.  My name is James and my family and I run an Octavia II Scout 1.8 tsi.  This replaced an Octavia II 4x4 tdi.  We have enjoyed a string of VAG family cars dating back to 1985 when we bought a Passat GL5 estate.  As it happens that Passat had an Audi engine as does our petrol Scout (more on that later!).  The Octavias have been really excellent cars - well built and extremely forgiving on uneven roads, not to mention the really practical boot.  There is a but.  And that comes in the form of epic oil consumption characterised by our current Octavia petrol.  This will be the subject of another post in the appropriate area.
