C'mon ACC users .. own up

Featured Replies

How many of you have gone to +5/-5 the ACC only to indicate right/left :)

'Puts hand up'

What about flashing at the car ahead instead of turning ACC on.. and the guy starts having a road-rage fit, swearing and gesticulating while looking at his rear view mirror!

Hands up to this one for sure

Done both a couple of times.

There, it's off my chest now :)

Guilty!

Guilty as charged m'Lud......for the first one.

PS I still think that BMWs system ergonomics are better. Faster=push away; Slower=pull towards. up/Down=on/off; push end of stalk=resume.

To increase rate of change push or pull to second stop.

Been there, done it......on more than one occasion

Yep, done both!

Nope......not me......I'm lying of course!

Well it makes a change from trying to use the windscreen wipers to indicate you plan to turn left or right  :peek:

Can't say I have.

I can say I have not touched the brake pedal or accelerator for 200miles though.... :)

Forgive my ignorance, but does ACC work at low speeds (down to standstill)?

I'm just envisaging a DSG following the car in front, even in motorway crawls and at red lights on roundabouts.

No, as the ACC is smaller and lower down on the steering column. I also don't get brake and accelaerator mixed up, just because they're next to each other!

No mix ups

Yes, it does work like that. Even if its set at 70, if the car in front is doing 5, you'll be doing 5.

Stops and starts in traffic, but if the car in front has been stopped for more than a few seconds, you have to tap the throttle or pull the stalk to make the car start again.

Works brilliantly in conjunction with DSG in stop start traffic imho.

I stil do this occasionally.... Just for old times sake you understand ....

Yup - and how annoying is it that you can't immediately cancel the indicators?!

However, I've never done the flashing one - so I feel better now ;-)

no flashing but lots of left and right indicating going on today on the A3 outside lane!

Guilty as hell. To both.
