I picked up my L&K Estate 190 TDI DSG yesterday and spent a happy three or four hours learning how everything works..........except for one thing! Can anybody help by suggesting what the "REST" button in the attached picture is for? Restore? Reset? but what?

Gives you upto 30 mins of warm air when you're parked up....

I've found that to be a godsend. You operate it after turning off the ignition. As well as warm air when it's cold outside it will also give you 30 minutes of cool air in summer, especially effective if the AC had been running.

Great to come back to a cooled car after shopping despite the car standing in the sunshine.

That's interesting I didn't know that about the cool air !! I'll be giving that a go later !

Figured it would be not tried it yet.

Seems a very thoughtful function - i am sure I will find it of use.  I presume it just uses residual heat/cooling from when the car was running and wont continue to actively cool... I have my suspicions that the residual cooling ability in the system will run through fairly fast in my country during the summer though...

Does anyone know if it circulates engine coolant through the heat exchanger ?

Not even noticed that, where is the button?

azAZ9@'s picture in his original post might be a subtle clue

No. It just operates the blower using any residual heat/cooling.

I forgot to use it yesterday afternoon and returned to my car after 20 minutes. Out of curiosity I pressed the button and was surprised it still operated.

It was blowing cool air as opposed to cold air.

Thanks to all. I knew I could rely on the Forum!

I thought it was a shortcut to search for a restaurant in GPS...
