wheel badges

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. Just a query about the wheel badges. As can be see in the photo the badges on my 2012 citigo alloys are corroded while the wheels themselves are in good condition. Can I get the badges replaced?

Can I get them myself and replace them or should I get the dealer to do at the next service which is due shortly?

How much is this likely to be? Any help appreciated thanks

Don't know what happened to the photo. Try again lol

Mine were covered under warranty which I casually mentioned on an annual service, though I'm guessing from 2012 that's now out of the question.

so you have steel wheels not alloys?

if you do a search on fleabay the had stick on centres as did superskoda

Can confirm they definitely pop out from behind

The caps pop out, take the wheel off and poke the back of the caps with a screw driver, pop! Out she comes, I've had mine out a couple of times so know. Quick google search and you'll find them easily enough - https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=skoda+citigo+centre+caps&gws_rd=ssl

so I have to take the wheels off to replace the centre caps. Okay got that. Thanks

Yep! Can't get to the back of them otherwise

had a chat with the parts guy where i get servicing done and he quoted me £30 +vat for the caps .had none in stock but thought i would leave it till thenext  service due in august and just get the caps replaced then. save me the hassle of removing all 4 wheels myself when they will have the wheels off anyway.

fair price ?

checked out ebay found genuine dealer caps at £8 each so happy enough

As previous post says put a screw in them and pull off and no need to remove wheels

You could probably use a rubber sucker/suction cup.

£30?! You having a bubble?! I think I'd just leave them until you sell the car, they'll only corrode again within a year, if that

I'd ask if warranty would honour the claim when it goes for service, no harm in asking

  • 1 month later...

Had my (pre-facelift) Yeti ones replaced under warranty earlier this year due to whiteworm - no problem with dealer.

Resigned to the fact that they will go the same way in time.........

Why pay £30 just to have it happen again? As above, replace a few months before selling.

Incidentally, Fabia2 front and rear badges have 'made in Italy' on the reverse - say no more!

Skodas are so good that wheel and body badges developing whiteworm are a major problem!

Had them replaced once already under warranty at 16 months of age and will be doing the same on my next service. They barely last a year before "going".
