Morning all,

 

I have a mk1 fabia combi which from the back looks so boring. I'm wanting to fit a subtle diffuser to make it look a bit better. However the one milotec make for the mk1 is a bit boring. However the one they make for the mk2 is much better, the lower bumpers look a similar shape and I am wondering if I can make the mk2 diffuser fit my mk1. What do people think? Has anyone had a diffuser from milotec, I presume they need bonding on but are they at all flexible. Do you think it will be possible for me to make it fit (and look good).

To be honest it's a daft question, only you know your level of competence regarding cutting and shaping large pieces of plastic, if you're confident and competent and you have the appropriate tooling then it looks a straightforward job, the only caveat is that the curvature of the later diffuser may differ from the curvature of the early bumper which would be tricky to overcome.

Cheers, yeah sorry I wasn't that clear, my main question is basically, Does anyone know how similar the curve is between the mk1 and the mk2. So anyone that owns both or has had both could give me a comparison. And if anyone knows how flexible the material is that the diffusers are made out of if they have bought one.

I've been thinking of doing something to the rear of my estate too.

A Mk1 VRS rear bumper conversion would be good, but its a cut and paste job from what i can gather. A lick of paint too.

 

I have a nice tail piece that i've had for ages and no-one has been willing to fit it for me. It would obviously need the bumper to be cut to allow the exhaust to come straight out. Many places said it was too fiddly and aren't bothered.

 

Whatever option you do chose you will need time, effort and money. Time and effort i have, but money........

Its handy if you have a mate or two, but alas I'm Pedro no mates!

Yeah exactly, I've been thinking about it for a while and there is very little choice. Plenty of diffusers around for octys and newer fabs but nothing for mk1's. I am tempted to try a mk1 octy one.

from what car is this diffuser?how hard is to feat?

The diffuser is from a Fabia Mk 2.

this bumper is from a skoda fabia rs 2007-2013 i see it in an ad.

it has  a real ''bad'' diffuser!

maybe in a normal bumper is easier to fitt.the normal bumper is not have the exhaust cut

I am looking for one with a cut so i can have my exhaust exposed. Maybe get a standard fabia mk 1 vrs bumper or just get a mk 2 diffuser as in the picture....

But i may have to graft the two parts together.

Can anyone who has already done this to a combi/estate please confirm what the process was and if they have documented it?

my thoughts are  if you want the mk2 diffuser you fitt it to the standard bumper

then cut the bumper because the diffuser has the exhaust cut and at the end go to the exhaust garage

and adjust the exhaust to the right place
