The rest of the post should have read Like to hear from you guys about your experiences and recommendations to help to receive a pass.l am looking at subscribing to Motangels ,who for £99 guarantee a pass .They say average cost is £300 for our cars .Thanks for reading this post.

The best way to for a car to pass an MOT is just look after it and fix things when they break. I've certainly never had to pay £300 to get any car through an MOT.

Just keep your maintenance up and you'll have no probs. I only tend to have problems with brake pads for some reason lol

Stuff motangels, no way would I line their pockets. If everything works and tyres are legal and brakes don't pull you won't go far wrong. Only really leaves bushes, springs and joints. Which you could inspect yourself beforehand if you really wanted to. I've never bothered, always just handed the car over and see what happens.

Come to think of it, I know a garage that guarantees a pass for about the same amount, but that's another story and business model.

Probably amounts to the same thing in the end

Take it to a council owned MOT station - they should have no interest in specifying work that isn't required.
