Biblical Audi RS6

Featured Replies

Right, so we all know that Shifty and myself (and others) went to the RR sessions at Awesome and represented the TDI PD130 club admirably (160+bhp and 305/306 lbs/ft or Torque).

Nice one Dave:thumbup:

However, I just looked at an Audi RS6 Avant that turned up....

414bhp from the bi-turbo V8 is to be expected.

What WASN'T expected was the Torque figure.....

Stock, this beauty cranks out 413 lbs/ft. Which is as much as the W12 in the Phaeton. VW had to restrain the Tuoreg V10 TDI with it's frankly disturbing 553lbs.

And we're all in awe of the Bugatti Veyron's 922lb/ft.

Bearing in mind that an RS6 with the stated mods will leave you with change from 70K, how in the name of all that is good an holy is it possible to spit out........

708lb/ft

:jawsmall:

Now, it's no slouch, but just watch how the chassis responds to being poked halfway through - looks like it's about to pull the anchors clear out of the concrete.... :jawsmall:

Truly incredible. I really want one, but cant run to it sadly.

Nice result too mate

Wow.......

I want one.

You cannot say any more can you? Unbelieveable, thats some poke!

i got a huge grin on my face and im not evern anywhere near it, truely a mental motor.

ps, anyone got a tissue? ;)

The RS6 is an awesome peice of kit, I've driven quite a few but the one I remember had been extensively "Fettled" remap, cats, exhaust and was putting out over 500bhp - don't know what the torque figure was - but jeesh that baby flew - the normal(?) RS6 aint no slouch at accelerating but this thing went like it had a jet strapped to the roof :)

I'm really looking forward to the next 12 month's with Audi :-

  • RS4 - Arrives March - Stonking 400bhp V8 with 8,500 Rev Limit
  • S8 - Arrives May -- 5.2Litre V10 Lamborgini engine
  • Q7 - Arrives June - Will also (eventually) get the V10
  • Allroad - Arrives June - A6 quattro with air suspension & Offroad Looks
  • TT - Arrives September
  • S3 - Arrives November

Then 2007

  • R8 - The Audi Supercar - RS4 V8 & 5.2 V10
  • Nuvolari -- Replacement for Audi Coupe
  • Next Gen A4
  • A3 Cabriolet
  • Mk2 A2 - Although not aluminium this time

I saw a lovely brand new RS4 Avant in black in Silverstone village by road angel/blackspot interactive, I love the new shape I must say.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Three years as an Audi tech and i still hate what the Mk1 did to me, awfull car IMHO.

Good God!

Did it need the chassis straightening on a jig after that????!?!

Just a thought... Is it ever possible to have toooo much ooomph? :)

More likely S4 -- RS4 Avant still in prototype form, and certainly won't be in this country yet.

Lummox

I know what you mean, but to be fair towards the end of the run, they did sort "most" of the problems. And it's still quite popular.

We have one owner with a brightyellow sport that has done well over 120K!! - without anything other than routine maintenance

NEVER!

I had them from lauch, which was a very amusing day at Millbrook. Tearing the **** out of them little things around the banked oval.

Really enjoyed the Audi launch days, miss them alot..lol

Yes I went to that launch as well -- why the hell they thought they needed the high speed bowl

If it makes you feel any better, they have not done a Millbrook event in a couple of years - we are hoping they will resurrect them this year with all the fast stuff that's on the horizon.

I think the 1st Millbrook for the launch of the TT was the best -- the sight of 50+ TT's parked in a circle when they were still months away from launch!!!

It definately had all RS badges on I had a nice look at it as the driver left it. So not too sure what to say.

It looked like the one in this article: http://www.fourtitude.com/news/publish/Audi_News/article_1844.shtml

That was my first time up there (late 99 iirc). I thought the new A4 one was quite good. All the old shape ones out the front then halfway around the track all the new ones.

I bagged the only 2.7T Allroad on that launch, the rest were 2.5's ha ha ha ha

Guys am i being stupid

When i've had my previous cars on the dyno (Nova 16v, Impreza RB5, Civic Type-R) they have always let the wheels run down to almost a stop to calculate the transmission losses therefore work out the flywheel and wheel hp.

In that clip the wheels slow down at a massive rate ?!?

Whys that ? :o

Awesome car though love the 'S' cars from Audi

Mmmm RS4 for me though!

It probably broke the dyno...:P

The dynojet dynometer is rated for 1000bhp and 200mph.........but what torque can it handle?

Maybe because its an auto? so a RR cant calculate the flywheel power... only whp!:D

Truly awesome machine! There was an RS4 at Oulten Park last November, an incredible sight down the home straight, shame the driver didn't have the guts to send it around the corners.

On the wheels slowing down, yeah I noticed that! Although I've never been on a rolling road (yet! - only a week away!), I always imagined the process of slowing down to be much more gradual.

Nope but it some times can be bad :p

Especially when you floor it and the tarmac off the road moves backwards but your not moving forards.

I used to run an internet cafe in Cardiff and a guy who worked nextdoor used to park his RS6 outside, oh my god did it sound nice! It is my Dream car.

Yeah but at the start of the clip he had fully tank of fuel, my guesses as he ran out :p

Aha yeah that would make sense

my uncle has one...it was before they had released the RS6, so it was just an A6 Avant, but it had the 4.2 V8, with just 20bhp or something less than the RS6...it didn't have any of the fancy things like the RS6, just a standard body. immense cr, the most luxery i have ever been in, it was fantastic. i remember one time down a country lane him coming up behind my sister in her 106 and passing her within like a second or something. He sold it in the end for fear of killing himself it was too fast! It also helped that his company paid for all his fuel so he used to drive it to england quite a lot (he lived in france)

I am lucky enough to have driven the rs4 and rs6 quite a lot as my grandmother has had both, lovely cars and the rs6 just sounds to die for:) Dogs never liked it in the back though with me driving...

Her excuse for needing the power? I am getting old and so if I pull out from a junction and didnt see something I need power to get out quickly:eek:

The standard(?) A6 4.2quattro was quite a different beast from the normal A6's at the time - its engine bay wasn't big enough to take the V8 engine as standard so the front was extended slightly, along with slighty flared arches. They are down quite a bit on power compared to the RS6 - but crikey they still shift!!

ah, i thought it was only a bit...didn't half move tho! :o
