Battery

Featured Replies

Refused to start this morning.Turned over several times and died. The central locking going ten to the dozen and radio went into safe mode.No previous indication of impending problem .Battery no. IJO 915 105 AE .(12V 70Ah 340A DIN ,570A EN/SAE) .Looking at a replacement Varta battery ,which one please ,thanks.

A lot of people have tried and recommend (me included) getting a Bosch Silver from Halfords. Good battery, and has a five-year warranty....

varta d15 - around £55 on ebay - same as bosch silver s5 but much cheaper

replaced mine in spring - starting is now superb

Get a cheap one that fits; always done this on numerous diesels, never had any bother

Avoid Halfrauds.  I think the diesel has a higher spec battery, D15 may do but the recommended size is an 096.

the d15 is 610CCA and 63Ah

This is much better than the one I had fitted from the dealer when I got it 60Ah and 400CCA

It is but diesel batteries are usually larger than their petrol counterparts

Thanks to you guys for your replies .After charging the old girl starts first turn every time,so l am delaying purchase of a replacement at the moment .Hopefully the right decision.l would have thought l would see a noticeable deterioration in starting if the battery was on it's way out.I will purchase a silver Varta replacement when needed.Cheers.

From what I can tell 096 is the correct type.

The Varta E44 would get my vote -  77Ah and 780A CCA!

Have a look at tayna.co.uk and ECP/CP4Less/GSF.
