3rd free service - what does it entail?

Featured Replies

Due into the dealership next week - is this one the same as the first service, i.e just an oil change?

VRS 2.0TDI.

If it follows the standard Skoda pattern of oil service > Inspection service > oil service I'd think yes. Next one will be an oil service.

Is it a 3 year / 30,000 mile Minor Service.

The Brake Fluid is due to be changed @ 3 years.

Was the Pollen filter changed at the 2nd Service.  The Air Filter should be checked, it might not have been at the last 'Major Service'.

Ask those doing it what they are doing as a 3rd & Minor Service.

Just ask out of curiosity, Is there any reference material that details what work my skoda dealer will carry out at each of the 3 services. Oh for the days of the service book we got with our shiny new car that showed what work was to be done at each service. Is it just me or am I just getting old. :)

There are only really two servcies, minor (fixed interval) and major (variable interval).

The inspection service is just that, a ruse to get you into the dealer.

Be aware that the additional items on the major servcie are only changed *if required. For the vast majority of Skoda UK models this isn't until at least 3 years old or 60,000 miles so ALWAYS ask what they are changing before paying the higher major service price.
