After a great deal of thought which I might ultimately regret, I'm looking for interest in a fellow enthusiast taking on my 1989 Skoda Rapid 136. This is arguably the best modified classic Rapid in the UK. Briefly, I've had the car since November 2012 and it's had a lot of money invested in it. The engine conversion sees a 1600cc Rover K series installed onto a the standard 5 speed transmission.

The car is always well received wherever it goes and was judge's choice at the 2013 Briskoda national, and again plus popular choice in 2015.

Of course it's not flawless there are two or three small patches of bubbling on the rear wheel arches and the engine cover. A replacement rust free engine cover is included that will need to be painted up to match.

I'm suggesting offers in the region of£5,000 and have a reserve price in my head so no silly offers. I'm only going to sell to the right person at the right price. if not, I don't sell at the moment. The car is due an mot this month which will be attended to (no advisories last year). Current mileage is coming up to 48k. The log book (V5) has been updated with colour change and engine conversion.

You can always reduce your fleet by another one to make room for this one

That would mean it would replace the missus car, become her commuter and she would fail the "right person" test by a considerable margin.

 

It wouldn't be fair on the car

Short update, car had its mot yesterday but failed!

Seat adjustment not locking securely, now fixed but the other item is excessive HC on emissions. I know the carbs aren't adjusted correctly so this is next on the list to fix.
