So I placed my order for a 230 combi on Saturday. First ever new car and I am really excited for it!

My build slot is apparently the week starting 17th of October but I won't see it until mid November. I guess it takes a while to work is way to UK shores from Czech Republic.

The hardest thing about it all was trying to decide which options not to take. It was hard not to go through and tick at least half the stuff there.

 

Also I got told they would stop taking orders for the 230 on 2nd of August. Did I grab a 230 before they were discontinued or are they just cutting it off due to parts shortages? I've heard rumor that the engines are in short supply but dunno if this is correct.

How many others have ordered the 230?

Mentioned elsewhere that 230s were being knocked on the head.

Its a good thing I grabbed mine when I did then. They havn't been going that long I though.

I don't think anyone is sure whether they are truly being discontinued or whether it's a cunning ploy to boost sales.

Either way, yours is nailed so it's all good.

*****   Just spoken to my dealer. 

 

As from 5pm last night ( as we all know ) Skoda are taking no more orders for the 230 Manual or DSG (and the 184 Tdi 4x4 Vrs DSG)

 

All stock orders/demonstrators have been cancelled. The only ones to be built are Customer Factory Orders.

 

My dealer, after talking to the Skoda Retail department is thinking my order will arrive with them at the end of September, beginning of October, another wait    :S but at leased it will be built.  *****

 

 

Just to add. My dealer told me that the Octavia is having a face lift in early 2017, new front end and the engine choice will be limited, perhaps the new Octavia Vrs will be a 1.0 litre Quad Turbo Tsi unit producing 200+ bhp and uses 10 litres of oil every 1000 miles

yes, ordered my 230 estate in red on Monday, Tuesday 5pm was the cut off for the order book. this will also be my 1st brand new car!

Intresting when you get told your build week is W/C 17th Oct, I ordered mine on the 19th May and still no build week.   :S

 

May I ask who your dealer is please ?

Build week 42 @ Status 10 or Status 20 ?

status 10 I would imagine.. it could be shifted forward he said.

I ordered mine on the 19th May, Provisional build week of 31. Your salesman might be telling porkies about delivery. They were having problems getting engines for the 230

 

Mine is at status 10 provisionally build week 31 which can go forward or backwards. Once the car goes to Status 20 it is committed to a build week.  Give him a ring tomorrow and ask what status your car is. That might give you an Idea when you'll get it. Don't let them fob you off about the build status. He can only give you a confirmed build week at Status 20. The ordering system will tell him  ***

Mine is coming  from Rainworths Mansfield. Dealer prices, I do haggle hard though...........
