Hello from Sheffield

Featured Replies

Hi, first time Skoda owner and very impressed, particularly with the 'bells and whistles' on my Superb Elegance (170BHP, DSG). Previously had a Merc CLS with a 7 speed auto box; really liked the Merc auto but undecided on the DSG.

Welcome to Briskoda :)

Where in Sheff are you?

The DSG will grow on you, loved my Superb 170 DSG, and regret selling it

Enjoy the car and the site

Regards

Welcome to the forum.  Yes, certainly plenty "bells and whistles" with the Superb Elegance and with the 170 engine its a great car - not that I'm biased or anything :notme:

I like that you have the courage to use that mickey taking name DeeDar.

Most (non local) people won't realise the significance though.  ;)

Its surprising how many locals have never heard of the term DeeDar too

My last Sheffield stomping ground too.

Hiya from another Sheffielder born and bred...

Welcome to the forum from another newbie!

I've been in New Zealand for 20 years, but went to Sheffield university, living around Hunters Bar for most of the time.

I was not sure about the DSG either, but it's almost impossible to buy a large car with a manual box in NZ.  I initially went to buy a new Subaru Outback, but when the dealer would not supply a manual, even on special order, I walked out of the showroom.

Now really enjoying the DSG - spends most of it's time in Auto mode, but it's fun to pretend your a racing driver and play with the paddles when the opportunity arises!  Better than a traditional auto and much better than a CVT!

Cheers,

Mark,

Wellington, NZ.
