Hi all, just want to introduce myself. My name's Nick and I'm from Newport in South Wales.

I'm currently selling my Polo G40 which is easily the best car I've ever had, and I've been into the dub scene for ages, but am brand new to the land of Skoda's. I laugh now that when I was a kid I vowed never to own a Skoda, and now I'm looking desperately for a Yellow Fabia VRS! How times change! Basically I just need a newer car that can put up with driving thru France and other parts of Europe later this year... A thirsty supercharged Polo isn't the best vehicle for that!

I'm a member of Newport club GTI so if anyone's around the Newport area, pop along to one of our meets on the first Sunday of every months at the Rising Sun pub in Rogerstone, Newport, at 7:30pm.

Anyway, enough waffle from me!

Briskoda has a number of Continental members and a fair few widely travelled ones over here as well - I believe some have gone even as far as Newport ;)

Thanks for the welcomes peeps. Very kind of you. Just spending some time browsing the forums and lurking a bit until I get into the skoda swing of things...

@ Mo - haha, I bet as soon as they came to Newport they turned around and headed off into the distance as quickly as possible!

I was gonna go for black, then silver and then I decided I like being different in my Polo and I'll miss that, so yellow it is!

Gonna blag the salesman of the car I'm looking at on Monday and pretend I actually don't want yellow, to see how much I can knock off the price!

Bought a 54 plate yellow vrs today, couldn't wait til tomorrow to go and test drive it! Picking it up on Thursday... getting it remapped on Saturday!

I've already named the car Roobarb (of Roobarb and Custard cartoon fame!). Couldn't think of a good 'yellow' name so Roobarb it is! I dunno why, but I always have to name my cars! :D

We were making.... progress on Friday

Got remapped on Saturday.
