Automatically Start Android Auto

Featured Replies

I have been using Android Auto a lot and think its great, the only problem is the faff getting it started every time I get in the car.

There are two issues, firstly the current version of Android makes the user manually change to file transfer every time the connect a USB cable. I have looked into this and short of rooting your phone there doesn't seem to be a solution.

The second issue, which I was hoping someone here may be able to help with, is the series of steps in the Columbus system you then have to take once the phone is connected and in the right mode. You have to go into the menu, choose the right submenu, pick your phone, then get 2 separate popups to warn about safety etc.

On a couple of occasions Android Auto has already been connected when I go into the menu, I don't know what I did differently but it must be possible to bypass the process. Has anyone had any luck. It doesn't take long but when you have to do it every time you start the car it becomes a pain.

Thanks
